Phoon, did you download and install Avant Browser yet? It would be interesting if that was the problem, but somehow I don't think it is. I just don't know what's wrong. The websites are just not being recognized as websites. It's not linking to my browser, at all. Does anyone else have any idea what my problem may be? The websites in Phoon's Chained Lightening won't work, and I'm at wit's end. >

Phoon, I already changed the image. I took a photo of some canoes overlooking the bay about two years ago. It is mostly blue and a rather moody image that matches the theme colors quite well. I've actually used the image alot for my computer wallpaper. Until I found this site, I ALWAYS used my own photos for my desktop. So, no need to send me the original image. If I do want to use it, I can make my own from the Chained Lightening wallpaper. As for ObjectMedia, I'm just trying t
Phoon, I have downloaded the updated Chained Lightening, and the weather works. And, the boxes are where they belong. I am now configuring other stuff, so I can get back what I lost. But, none of the sites in the websites box or the google toolbar work. The dialogue box with the red/white X pops up stating, "Windows cannot find 'http://www.[website].com'. Make sure you thped the name corr
For whatever it's worth, I have gef's Fadeout loaded now instead of Chained Lightening, and it's also really fabulous. Now, I'll download the new Lightening.......... Then, I'll have to make a decision as to which one to keep. And, therein lies the biggest problem with all of the WC/SD stuff. Decisions, d
Phoon, thank you for answering my questions. I thought I did download the new theme, but I already had it, so it may have not been fixed. You're right, though. I will delete the theme and reload it. > But, all that configuring.......... se la vie..... I live in zip code 11940. It's not that obscure a place. East end of Long Island, NY down on the south shore. It's freakin' cold here today....
Nope, no good. I tried changing the zip, and checking Zone Alarm. Neither of these are the problem. But, thanks again, anyway.
Thanks, Essencay. I'll try using another zip. It's just that I've never had this problem before, with any other dx objects or themes, or with Sysmetrix. So, I don't think it's the firewall. But hey, ya never know........ <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="P
I need some assistance, please. First, the weather script seems to have a bug. It will not accept my zip code, stating that it "does not appear to be a valid zip code." If you can instruct me in where and how to change the script, that's what I need, I think. Also, in "Choices - Web Sites", none of the url's work. Where, or how do I get it to default to my browser of choice, that being Avant Browser? I set it in "Discover", and it works fine. But again, not in choices.
Jafo, I apologize for the profanity. I was looking to make a rather harsh statement to those photo thieves who may have been reading this. I guess I got carried away. I promise to be more judicious with my language next time.
Thanks. Worked like a charm. Sheesh..... You learn something new every day.........
Now this is gonna sound like yet another realllllly dumb question, but I gotta ask cuz I give up trying to find it....... When I hit the printscreen key, where does the file go? How do you know it has even done anything? I guess once I know where the file goes, then I can know if it worked. DOH <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrow
I have a question, and if you refer to my profile desktop image, which I just changed so you can know the specific objects I'm talking about....... When I use the Capture docklet, it takes a beautiful image of my desktop. But, I cannot image the open start bar at the same time. So, I posted that issue, in which a program called Gadwin PrintScreen 2.6 would help. Well, it helps capture the open start bar, which is what I wanted, but I lose other stuff. So, here's my question: <br
I just went to the site. It is stated on the front page, but down at the bottom. If you don't scroll down, you don't see the message, "All images are copyright of their owners." I am aware that it is risky to put up my photos, and for that reason, some of my photos will never go up there. But, as I said, I like to share, so I take the risk. I still hate it when people lift photos. And, the thought of using stolen work to create and submit wallpapers is abhorrent. If there was only a way t
No, it's technically not. Technically, if you read the fine print, the images belong and are copyrighted to the photographer. Nothing stock about it. At least, that's the intent. But, there are people who lift photos. And, if you think it's a stock photo site, then likely many millions also think the same thing. Maybe I should have a "converstation" with the site adiministrator to make sure that it should be KNOWN up front, and not just in the fine print. <A HREF="https:/
Travis, how about an object that give you all the WC and SD programs in a neat little DX package? Something other than a docklet. Maybe an object that would also have a configurable list of favorite objects that you can switch on and off, without having to open up DX itself and list every detail, but only the objects themselves. Since DX2 no longer has the right click capability, this maybe could be kind of handy. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd
Thanks, Travis. I do see what you mean. Actually, I also have a pbase website where I display my photos, as photography is one of my passions. And, I'm always afraid that my photos will be "lifted" by some mindless, inconsiderate dolt. But, I display them anyway because it's the artist in me that wishes to display my art. Also, it's a piece of my life, and I like to share that with some people, even though a particular photo may not be technically that good. As far as my very fir
Now I ask........ Are you referring to my wall? Just wondering, because I did mention that I had taken a photo of a greenman. Now, I know it's not the most complicated of walls. I actually prefer simple walls, because I find most of the scenery ones, or the scifi ones, though really well done, to clutter my desktop. But, I do like a 3D effect, so balancing an uncluttered desktop with that 3D can be tough. I also know that many of you wouldn't like my wall, though I'd like to think that
Also, for whatever it's worth, by far my favorite CursorXP is Cappuccino, by RadialFX. It's what I use more than anything, even if it doesn't match the rest of my desktop. It's just kinda soothing to watch the steam rise. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered
I also have a Bunn. Bunn rocks!! I'm sitting here, drinking a cup of Tanzania Peaberry coffee. Life is good. By the way, I have to go to the beach on tuesday. Part of my job description. It's gonna be friggin' cold out there. Beautiful, but COLD. I think I'll bring along a thermos of coffee. <
Thank you for accepting my first upload, my Bronze Greenman wall. I feel honored.
Whatever...... I just uploaded my first wallpaper.
Now I'm a bit nervous. I was thinking about putting up my first wallpaper, until this thread began. It's a wall that I created because I'd been looking for something comperable, but couldn't find anywhere. I took a photograph of a greenman plaque that my son gave to me as a housewarming gift. I did a bit of photoshop blending magic, and voila! A rather simple, bas relief greenman wall. Should I submit it? Or should I just wait. I think that maybe I'll just submit. The worst that can hap
Leo, coffee is my sustenance. My life blood. I'm an addict extraordinaire. So, I know of what you speak. Although I will drink any ol' deli swill when I'm at work, I brew only the "good" stuff when I'm home. I buy my beans exclusively from an online site http://www.cmebrewcoffee.com/cmebrew_gourmet_coffee.html It's the least expensive gourmet coffee site, and with shipping the coffee costs about $8.00US per pound. That's for a full pound. It's one of my daily indulgences. Hope this
Thank you, Kona. It's a very nice little program.
