try changing your color settings from 32 to 16 bit. i had CTD every turn when playing on 32 bit mode, but never on 16 bit.
My settings already were at 16.
Wittman, hate to say this, but the problem is probably at your end. If CTDs were so bad, the entire forum would already be up in arms. There was a survey ship crash bug introduced in GCX but the fix was put out shortly.
That's possibly true although I have no idea what it could be on my end. Like I said, I play tons of games and never had CTDs this bad. I was playing last night and when the Torian's invaded one of my planets, CTD. :sniff!: :sniff!:
Great game and all but it's buggy as all get out. Of all the games I have ever played, this one, as far as playability is horrid. CTDs are rampant. Unless the developers can make a patch that fixes this stuff, looks like all I have is a $40 beer coaster. >:(
The only patch I see on the website is the 1.05 which I downloaded. Where is 1.1 or is that the expansion?
My compliments to Stardock for creating the game I expected MOO3 to be. Great design and interface. I am very excited about playing it. My gripe is being able to play. After having problems installing (it took almost 10 minutes for the installer to kick in when I inserted the disc. Running it from the start menu only hung the machine) I just started getting addicted to the game when I am plauged by constant CTDs. I know this forum has dealt with this issue ad nauseum but it really ruins

Thanks for the tip. I did the same thing and just let it sit for awhile and lo and behold the install screen popped up and I was good to go. Never had a game take so long like that so I naturally thought something was wrong. Now looking forward to the game! Thanks to everyone for their input! :) Cheers
I have a NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 2000 64 MB RAM which according to the recommended requirements, far exceeds what the game requires. This is the first time since I installed XP that I ever had a game hang up in the install screen so I don't know if its an XP issue or the game. Once I click on 'Install' it just sits there then I get the Not Responding message. Since I can't return the game at Best Buy due to thier store policy I'm hoping I didn't buy a $40 beer can coaster. :sniff!:
When I try and install GV, all the program does is hang and at the install screen and eventually I get the Not Responding message. I've tried running it from the Run menu and it hangs there as well. I've also tried installing it from my read/burner drive and it hangs at the installation screen. Anyone have any similar problems and could you share your solutions? I would appreciate any help. I thought it was the CD at first but when I exchanged it, I still have the same problem.
