I think that setting changed/disappeared about the time the option to disble the user pic was added. It's easy enough to get rid of the user name with negative content margins now.
Shameless Designs
Glad to help.
The one possible exception to my post above that occurs to me is that if there are elements in the skin which have a great deal of vertically-oriented texture or patterns and are set to stretch horizontally, these items will be seriously affected because of the big difference in aspect ratio. I'm thinking mainly of titlebar, taskbar and statusbars here. That's about the only situation I can think of which would affect graphic appearance very much other than the impact of font sizes which I menti
Ok, first of all, pixels is pixels, so whether your monitor is set at 72dpi, 96dpi, 148dpi or anything else, it is not going to affect the location of pixels on the screen. The 1900 x 1200 setting is what matters in this respect. Because the ratio of width to height in your resolution is significantly different than the normal 5:4 (eg 1280x1024) or 4:3 (eg 1024x768) your WB skins will appear to be somewhat different for elements which are stretched or tiled but not a whole lot, certainly not eno
I'm Brad, although most of my friends on the net call me Shame or Shameless. I'm currently living in Southwest Pennsylvania, which is my 24th residence (6 mos. or more). I will turn 18 again (3rd time) in about 10 years, and I have no clue where I'll be living then, but I probably still won't be grown up. <
Sorry, but I am not a mind reader. If you would like me to help you, then you will have to give me a better description of the problem. Or wait until one of the mind-readers comes along.
Having recently gone through a nightmare experience with installing an ATI Radeon 9600SE, my advice would be to do as much research as you can and to know your system hardware well before you buy. You need to know the following at minimum: The manufacturer and model of your motherboard. Does the motherboard have an onboard graphics controller? If it has an onboard graphics controller, what type, make, and manufacturer? What chipset is being used? (Intel/Non-Intel, manufactur
Congratulations to both of you. Well deserved promotions. WinCustomize just keeps getting better and better.
Congratulations Fuzzy. A well deserved promotion.
What version of Photoshop are you using? Is it actually Adobe Photoshop or some scaled down manufacturers version that came with a scanner or digital camera? Even then I find it really difficult to believe that it doesn't support bitmaps. At any rate, if you saved them as .jpg, you can open them yourself in MS Paint and save them as .bmp. Or you can DL IrfanView http://www.irfanview.com/ It is a freeware file converter which can view almost any graphic file format and can conve
As essencay said, there are user overrides for the taskbar size, but a great many skins do not work when using the large taskbar setting. The bar does become larger, but it looks terrible. If it looks ok, though, this setting does seem to stick. If it doesn't look right using this setting, then the best bet is to let the skin decide the size, but my experience has been that using that setting, then manually resizing the taskbar to double height, the bar looks better, but the setting will not sti

Yes, the extra RAM will make a difference, but check around first for a better price. RAM is high-priced right now, but not that high. Unless you have an unusual motherboard, I''m guessing you need PC100 168-pin DDR. You should be able to get 256MB for under $100 if you shop around. [Message

You can try this: https://www.stardock.com/files/odnt_zapper.exe It's a small download that should clear out everything related to Stardock Object Desktop.
Welcome back, Brain.
I honestly don't think Phoon was out of line. His initial post wasn't much different in tone than your post about Mozilla/Firebird, DesignCaddy. As for ATI and technical support, I think it's outrageous, frankly, that one has to pay for technical support just to be able to install the brand new product. Unless you happen to be one of the lucky(?) few for whom ATI's tech support number is a local call, one either has the choice of paying long distance by the minute or pay a flat rate of $19.95 pe
Well, ATI does back up their products with technical support. I should know, I paid over $40 for them to provide me with that technical support so I could get the brand new $200 graphics card I bought from them to work. I'll use ATI again though... when they deliver it via little devils on ice skates. <img s
WindowBlinds runs on a per user basis. Each account can be configured to run with or without WindowBlinds. And if more than one account is running WindowBlinds, then each may have separate skins, wallpapers, etc. There is no need to hide anything. You asked specifically about icons. If you are speaking about the icons for Explorer (Search, Cut, Copy, etc) or Internet Explorer (Back, Forward, Stop,

Kona, Object Bar is included with an Object Desktop subscription. On the Object Desktop Tab of the Software page in SDC, if you click on the little button that says More>> at the bottom of the software list, you will see it. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powere

Poor kona... seems like he has more than his share of bad breaks. Oh by the way, Gary, I got my new DVD-ROM installed. Works like a champ. I won't be needing that thing you sent me after all, so you can have it back. Thanks again for your help. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0
