, well it's not a data miner or tracker. However, it is currently only used by OD components (so if they're not installed, it's not doing anything)
Point is, you being one of these peeps that are coders (i think,(which isnt often if i can help it), i apoligise if im wrong), why are the users (those that install the program), never given any notice or have any information in the readme about programs added as background tasks to the startup etc? Im not having a di
Darkspire
but i iz an idiot. just passin' it on
No your not, i think ALL software companies that you download software from should also have a terms and conditions that THEY have to accept, for example 'i will not install programs in the background that you know nothing of' or 'I wont put data miners or trackers into your system' :D If i want to go and look at the teletubbies site i dont want every joe bloggs knowing about it LOL
The minor races are no longer 'minor' , the last few patches have let them evolve like wildfire, i just bumped into the Caranids VERY early on and they had 11 decent systems LOL Also on the diplomacy screen either its a bug or the AI cant add up :D I ask for 200 , use the slider on the little window to increase the months, the text turns green at 5 months, so thats 1000. Now if i decrease the amount to 100 and use the slider i can go to 13 months which gives me 1300 :CONGRAT: ...
Im sorry i never made it clear enough, I HAVE NOT GOT OBJECT DESKTOP INSTALLED, HONEST :) I said i checked Stardock and it told me its not installed , i looked in the control panel /add remove programs and that said it wasnt installed. So i remove the line from the startup and all is happy and smiles but when i boot Stardock it adds ANOTHER line to my startup , same as the one i said in my other post, then i end up with lots of unwanted / not asked for lines in my startup :notsure: And
First off im one of these peeps who like to update things by patches and likes to keep a firm grip on apps running in the background etc. When i bought GalCiv the free XP had just come out and the only way to get was to use Stardock with a promise of a patch later on, so i down loaded Stardock and was a very happy camper (bruised , battered , bemused , by the AI but what a game !!). Anyways last week i read about the update so i checked Stardock once a day when i got in from work, ive download t
There is a legend on the metaverse page
Umm, not the information were discussing, are you on the right post? :D
Commander either 5 games or 2,500 points and 3 games Lieutenant either 5 games or 2,000 points and 1 game
Can you confirm? Is it random for the Commander and Lieutenant ranks, '... either 5 games OR score plus games' or a typo? always wondered why they never put this score information in the 'Legends' section of the Metaverse ... :HOT: [Message Edited]
How about selecting one of the planet governors? like the last one and make sure they only have what you want in there build queue? that way you change mid game to them and not have to change it all. I find it helps to rename the planets / stars to what they do and who is the governor, EG MA_034_G3 (manufacturing #34 and governor #3) Hope that helps a bit :)
The 'we will support the game for one year after release' is all very well and good but what about those who have only just bought GalCiv from a shop, as it has only just been released to the shops, if those words are true those people can expect a lot less than a years support (yes you can say they download all the previous patches from release, but as you pointed out this gave the customer more of an intrest as the game was constantly evolving, and yes they timed the free expansion to be avail
Just found a really good one, not sure if its a bug but it is usefull ... LOL 2 x Overlords 1 x Terrorstar (created / built up on resource) 1 x Economy Resource Click on Terrorstar as the active ship , now click create fleet , now move the Terrorstar ... the resource moves with it !!! way cool , i got all my resources now in a set of very heavily guarded sectors ... :HOT: Now if i could only remember the one about how to get Terrorstars to move lots of move
Thank you all for your kind help :D I , in all honesty , was worried because i had found without hitting the forums about trading tech (tech whoring i think you call it on here). I was just using it to fund the minors and use them againt the main five then stepping in and clearing up the pieces. So i am i correct in thinking if your score ever reaches or goes above 25000 at any time in the game the score is a zero on the metaverse?
im really confused , i wanted to have a go at submitting a score this weekend , ive looked all over and the metaverse rukes dont tell me anything , help ?
In english :) Can someone please explain the guidelines for correctly submitting a metaverse score? (do's and donts please)
I think I know what did it. I was playing tiny/rare/intelligent. I had Earth plus one other decent planet. I was taking technologists with max research and diplomacy. I was researching techs and trading them for lots of cash, going over 25000 rather quickly.
As im a bit new here , what does this mean ?? yes , tiny/rare/intelligent , got that bit (map / planets / AI level) , but the rest? i have been playing without any mods, now it would appear that you can get penalised
No to the user defined playlist, that is off. No to winamp and windvd. As i said it is a BUG, just wondered if anyone else had noticed. And just for those who might be having a blonde moment trying to figure it out, IT CAN BE REPLICATED EACH AND EVERY TIME, therefore its a BUG. If i load GalCiv and then load a saved game straight away i lose the sound effects but not the music, if i wait for 5 minutes and then load the save game (or start a new one) it works fine, and as i said i can
A little story :) I had problems with the sound effects not working but the music was ok. One day i loaded Galciv left it on the main menu and went off to make a coffee, i have an old kettle and it took about five minutes till i came back selected load and when it got to 8% the music didnt disappear :CONGRAT: it continued to load and the sound effects were there. Well i never really noticed till the next time i loaded a save game, i loaded Galciv and clicked on load game straight away and w
