Was mentioned by Frogboy that the patch would be available at least a week ago, the UP planets is broken due to the last patch, im getting bored with the same two choices ...
Darkspire
Mellow words indeed :) Yes well, i only got GalCiv in september (i think, i work nights so i never know what day it is), i ve been playing 4x games for moons, ths is easily the best ive seen. And as i said normal players or above and at least one weekly pure evil score submitted, so i dont expect to get many, if any, responses :D But ... if there is anyone reading this that would like the challenge of joining then dont be afraid of the smell of burning round here ... If the
cAN'T wAIT tILL yA bEND eACH oTHER oVER?
No marmite miners in this empire LOL I was on a mellow trip just looking for some like minded peeps for my empire , little did i know you need an asbestos suit to start an empire thread round here ... ;)
Thank you for all calming down, i really hate bad karma The Dark Lord Assassin: Yes, we have would accepted you. a. your last submitted score was very evil. b. your last submitted score was normal. c. you seem to submit at least once a week. Thats all i was after , Normal (or better) and very evil. I dont want to tread on any ones toes, (see my first line) im a happy hippy most of the time , i just thought it would be cool, i made my entrance requirments tight so it
As for the Evil Ones, I do not see them as being primarily afraid of competition; their main complaint seems to be more of someone is "poaching" their empire concept and thus treading too close to their turf.
I didnt realise they had the copyright on evil. They accept both shades of evil, i dont. I was looking for medium skilled players and above, who were looking to work towards pushing an empire up the lists, whilst watching thier scores and skill grow along with that e
Thank you for flaming / ruining my post.
Nothing :) We are only pure evil, no other shades, you are not. We accept only normal or above, you do not. Nuff said :HOT: Lord Megatron : Your 'empire empire' was first yes but we are very different. We are not asking for ANY evil players, we asking for VERY evil players We only seek skilled players with a good score on normal level. We dont think your little post was funny. This will not be forgotten ... seriously ... so we shall start pos
What you suggested was what the original Civ history kept a track of :) as regards importmant monuments / social achievments. As for those trade goods :notsure: if a minor race beat me to the production of one i only recently tried to obtain them from the race (usually a minor) well i trade for it and get it, and it never appears on my side of the trade window, ive checked my planets to see if can be built and its not there , i checked the details on my planets, its not on any of the
Think someone suggested this somewhere but an offline in-game hi-score table just for single player so even if you dont submit scores you can still see a progression in your games, would be nice to add all the medals and whatnot that you get on-line too if possible. A history text file, anyone old enough to remember Civilization ? the very first one ? it created a text file of each years major events, from year zero to the final year / finish, that would be very useful , not only would
We are Nefarious. We are very evil. We are normal or better players with at least one score submitted a week. If you fit the requirments come join us on our crusade to crush all those white smiley faces all over the metaverse ... remember, there is only one shade of evil, black. Be evil, very evil >:(
your name is well suited for Evil Empire. please submit a few evil games, then come and join us [Message Edited]
You call that evil ?? :D HairyTheTaco : If you get some more scores and get a little more evil you might be the one asked to join an empire ... :) [Message Edited]
I had exactly the same problem, so i started from scratch to examine WHY these blighters were using me for target pratice LOL This for me works, You need to kick thier butt fairly early on, modify your game strategy to suit, if your going to go for military then get to battle cruisers as quick as you can and kick the crap out of the nearest, biggest, baddest AI, im only on normal level but im always getting threatened, those dam green ET's all the time ;) i then get the sectors with
>>Another thing im seeing is minors with colony ships that can jump 8+ squares at the very start of the game This begs the question that I've been meaning to ask: are the attributes of the other races randomly generated at the beginning of each game? If so, then perhaps your minor race had many of its attribute points allocated to the 'Range' attribute (just a guess).
Thats very intresting (and yes i have read the manual, honest) i thought range was the distance from the
Well that one went through ok :CONGRAT: Must have been the 22000+ on that last game , it wont happen again ... :HOT: Thanks for your help :D
Hmm Very strange :HOT: Well i did try three times this morning and it said that it was sent ok, i just tried again and even jiggled with the last turn to the effect of losing 40 points from the score to see if that helped, said ok again but still hasnt shown up. :notsure: Whats even weirder, is what im seeing in the current games im playing, the latest is really worrying, i started the game with all of the AI's on normal and ended up next to the Yor and seeing as i didnt ha
I tried to submit a score and it send that it was sent ok but it never appeared on my score sheet :notsure: Which brings me to question the logic of the metaverse score submissions, ok i dont want to upset anyone but im just using this as an example ok :D Hitler saw a weakness, exploited it and took over europe in a very short period of time, Napoleon did the same, and there are others like the Romans etc. My point is if the weakness is there you exploit it or get used
Darkspire.. no need to start one.. you fit the mold of the evil empire already.
Yes but they dont fit my requirments for qualifacation ... the requirments will be tight, very tight ;)
And of course, the Viraxian Ascension is hiring new overlords if you are interested in joining an empire. Then you get the fun of watching your empire move up in the rankings as you submit games. Our empire is locked in a tight battle right now, and your contribution would make a significant difference!
Thankyou for the offer but im going to start an empire ... :HOT:
Im sorry , im a bit of a dinosaur ... LOL Its been a few years since someone mentioned square roots , then the penny dropped , i remember in my A level days of big books full of tables... So if anyone else like me, is way too old to dig out thier schoolbooks heres a link for square roots :) http://www.math.com/students/calculators/source/square-root.htm [Message Edited]
Thankyou for your help :) Im blonde so bear with me :D but 1.4142 games played? i played two games not one and nearly a half or am i missing the transport here LOL
My scores dont add up :notsure: Ive only sent submitted two so i only have an overall score and not an average...yet :D It sayes my score is 21942 >:( It should be 31030 :CONGRAT: 10000 points is a lot to lose, or does the metaverse use the same adding up as the ingame economics :) Help? [Message Edited]
Thanks much, that did the trick Kelly
Glad to be of help :D Dont tell everyone though or i might lose the most evil dude around title ... :HOT:
Just so we're clear:The expansion pack will NOT be available at stores. Only through GalCiv.com
Thats what you said about GalCiv, and i bought that from GAME, and with the amount of games released these days with original + expansion in the box it might be worth thinking about. Frogboy: When the expansion info was first put on the newspage it was said if enough intrest was generated etc, so then you replace the expansion cyberpoll with the stellar frontier an
So if theres not enough intrest you will cancel it for the general users? i can understand that, but ONLY allowing Drengin.net users to have the expansion sounds pretty poor to me, if thats the case you can forget the whole idea for a lot of users, i dont want all the other stuff that Drengin.net offers, and i dont see why i should subscribe to something i dont want for the sake of a expansion pack. Then what happens to the general users who dont have the expansion? discontinue support unless th
Anyone else got any other ideas?
It can be removed from the startup , NEVER play with the registry , your PC will end up with bad karma ;) Load the 'system information' tool , then to the menu , tools / system configuration utility . the last tab is named 'startup' , go to that and just uncheck the offending program from the list (this is much safer than editing the registry but you still need to be very carefull, rule of thumb is , if your not sure leave it al
