Your comments are correct about Blizzard, i think the problem is more like the one Diablo II had though to be honest, it has taken them over a year and a half plus to get it right but they had the same problem with classes as we are with scoring for each win, the D2 tables used to be all one class at the top, others were left behind, evrytime there was a patch to cover exploits for a class another 'loophole' was found for another class, so that that class ended up at the top. Only by constantly
I will admit I try to score higher so my empire can be competitive in the Metaverse. There's nothing wrong with that. But I also don't get Military victories solely on cheese. I love invasion. I'm addicted to it. It may be much easier to build culture starbases and patiently watch them all flip, but that's soooo boring. Give me a Combat Transport and a couple of Avatars to clear system defenses and I'll show you a happy Theoden.Lumping everyone who achieves a military victory may be more

The question i ask myself is , why didnt someone notice this back in december when it was released?? i just subscribed to Drengin and am a little bemused, i didnt expect ALL the expansion, just a few tweaks , maybe a few bits of new tech, the editors in a rough form or another, but most of all PLAYABLE to the extent that it worked with my current GalCiv, if i had known this i would not have subscribed and waited a while longer as its on a time basis (year? year and a half?) :notsure:

A usefull thing to do with waypoints is use them for resources, saves all the trouble of trying to find them, and it allows you to send groups of constructors to upgrade starbases at resources with a few clicks, a good point to remember is that if you delete a waypoint it removes it from a planets target for production, so if you have ten planets set up to upgrade a starbase you only need to set the 'rally point' once for the planet production queue, just delete the waypoint and move onto the ne

Hello all :D I apolgise about the ranks bit, but like how does a score of 38564 get a higher rank than me when i have nearly 3x the amount of points?? im not having a pop at anyone else here, theres no harm intended, just that i owed those comments to 'The Dark Lord Assassin' after his little comments to me a while ago LOL i was a little 'green' back then and his comments were what made me give up trying to find any players for my empire, just wanted to give the dude the same perspective i had

Your Earth was colonised aprox 26,000 years ago, the colonists were illegal, they were sent here under false information, they colonised all the high altitude areas, were regarded as 'gods'(olumpus, asgard etc), they taught the egyptians math, cotton weaving etc, they taught cretes / greeks sea trading, they have influnced things throughout history, it is the descendants of those colonists that have screwed up your planet. Check the history books, its all there.

Come join the Nefarious Empire http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=664 We could do with at least one other serious very evil player, they all have enough peeps in thier empires, plus they allow do-gooder white faced smiley faces into them, do you really want to be in with that bunch of yucky goodness?? :D Remember there is only one shade of evil ... Black :) [Message Edited]

Yes it does CTD , it used to do it to me too , then i stopped clicking on it and it never happened again :D so im not to sure if they have fixed it but peeps have mentioned it before. The best way to 'push out' at the start is,IMO, from your very first turn, make sure you have at least one other yellow star in the system you start in. colonise the highest PQ planet you can see 15 is the minimum, dont bother with 14's there not worth it at the start. then press f4 to go to the economics , pu

Well i cant speak for anyone else obviously, but GalCiv was designed to have four (shoot me if im wrong) seperate roads to victory and if the scoring is geared towards military i never really noticed, honestly. I play for the military victory because i find it the most enjoyable road for me, before i started submitting scores i tried all the other ways to victory and just found that as i tweaked the difficulity levels i enjoyed the military side of things more. I dont play with the War Party

A recent game is one im not likely to forget ... I started a new game and thought 'Hey, why not change the AI to random morality' ... Big mistake. LOL I only had a few systems but lots of planets so i rushed the tech tree to battle hammers and attacked the Torian in the sector next to me, little did i know ALL the AI's had ended up being Saintly (:( they all joined together and i had the biggest war i have ever had, so far :D took some real brainwork to win, and what do i end up with?? my wo
another point : a planet with 30 B people, I take away 5B of them on a combat transport, morale was 100% at the beginning, it stays 100%, I only lose some production points, but if I ever put them back on the planet the morale falls to 80% even 70% - it depends
That also depends on the PQ (planet quality), imagine ... a planet is a tad overcrowded, but they have learnt to live with it, you take a percentage off, the peeps living there can move again, so if you put the per

There i was, a puddle would be bigger than the sectors i had against the Yor :D and they decided to eradicate me ... so with much backstabing / tech trading and general underhand tactics i managed to get hold of three military resources, topped them all up with the best i could and noticed that there military was still greater than mine (:( so i built a fleet of ships , stronger than his, still no change on the mini graph >:( then the penny dropped with a very loud thud :D i had the popul

Have tried to mention this before (the post i made is in the 1.13 bug report post, read that for the full breakdown of file types). There are some really weird sound formats in the MP3 files and the BIK movies. Some soundcards go wonky when accessing certain frequencies, (i do a bit with local indie bands demo cd's, so i fiddle with sounds quite a bit), so its no good getting the latest drivers, so peeps are still in the dark if the problem still occurs (they have done the correct thing by u

Lhetre: As i said, BOTF is a great game, the combat has a lot more to do than the reviewer had worked out, yes the tech tree is non branching but the way it is done involves much juggling for the funding, ive never seen one done like it since, not in a bad way just that it was , at the time, unique ;)
"eXplore eXpand eXploit eXterminate" ok, nothing to do with strategy strictly speaking, or turn based then
Nothing to do with strategy ?? :D thats what game caterg
