I never thought it would happen with all the legal stuff I had read. Looks like I may be returning again. Been playing Distant Worlds for the last few years but I have waited so long for this and after all the good memories I have from here it would be a travesty not to. Darkspire

Ive been here since GC came out, and although GC2 is good it still needs the polish that GC had, I really hope that a few polishing patches could be applied to GC2, Im playing Distant Worlds at present and although the AI needs a bit of tinkering is a really good example of what a 4x should be, if you like depth look no further, Endless Space is great to look at but once you have learnt th

Game : TA OS: Win xp . 32bit . SP3 Did it once by accident, second time to see if it would happen again. Galaxy map (little button next to zoom in/out, next to minimap) If you move the mouse pointer over the Galaxy map then use the mousewheel to zoom error window pops up, 'program has chosen to end in an unexpected way' (more or less what it said) causing instant 'crash to desktop' Weird because it does actually seem to work as regards z

Can someone outline how the mod folder structure is laid out, like where the files all go? Ive just downloaded from Gamestop GC2 Ultimate and looked in the mod folder and compared it to the data folder in TA and it is completely different in layout, for example, the files in the TA data folder are in a folder called english, in the mods folder they seem to have there own folders, im not sure whether the files need to go in the folders or just sit in the data folder? Hi Yes the Thalan tree is very strange [e digicons]:borg:[/e] took me moons to work out that its back to front [e digicons]*_*[/e] A very good tree once you have worked it out. No i didnt have any buildings when i started, would that be because of the techs i chose in the civ setup? Although you can 'right hand' button on them for the details they dont really tell you what buildings you get with that tech selected. Any sugge

Hi I downloaded GC2 UE from my Stardock / Gamestop account and thought id try a custom civ as i usually play using the Yor, thought id have a change as ive read on here the Yor are a bit underpowered now in the economy dept due to the changes in TA. First off i have no mods installed, all i have done is put a 256x256 race image in the main GC2 folder as 'RaceImage60.png', other than that it is as downloaded at V2.03. I selected the custom race, selected ab

[quote who="Heavenfall" reply="4" id="2856432"]The Piratebay guys are convicted in Sweden, I think you blaming bush and obama is hilarious. Voting with your wallet is the right answer, because it is the only right afforded to you by the market economy. Pirates aren't heroes, they're the scum of the earth. Do you know what would happen if noone paid for games? Noone would make them. Like it or not, you have no right in any way to violate someone's license to play a game.

Not sure if anyone is about or if it is a fixable thing but i have a problem with 1.22 that i got off Impulse / Stardock. First off, Started a new game in GC NOT AP and the homeworlds are missing, Sol looks normal, no crowns on the planets and none show up in the star list under homeworld either, none of the minor races have one showing up either. And yes i have found all thier planets :notsure: And the starbases dont cost anything to build either >:( Had

That's a good one. Secret feminine wiles... My wife just pokes her head into the office and gives me one of those patented stares of hers and that's all it takes. No wooing, no wiles, no little slip of the nightie to show some leg... nothing! Just a stare. Man, I am pretty well trained, am I not? Your lucky, my better half tends to throw

Darkspire: That "Just in time debugging" message box is a result of your having the .NET SDK installed. Previously, a buggy .NET program might have failed silently, depending on the circumstances; now you get this dialog because the SDK includes a .NET debugger and thinks you're a developer, so you get a chance to fix the bug. There was one crash bug in Galacto

Great program. Very informative, lets face it whoever designed the tech layout in GCII needs to be taken outside and slapped with a big wet fish why on earth they couldnt leave in more information about the tech is anyones guess. In GC you could could right hand on an item and it would tell you about it, if it aint broke dont fix it!!! I do have one problem though, and its annoying to say t

Whatever race you choose" now click on "Attack ... Whatever race you choose" to remove it then click on "Attack ..." to remove that.
