I had intended merely to show him that the System Colors setting was working. I chose Diamond and File Explorer because they should be yardsticks that we all have. Changing the System Color: Window in WBConfig for Diamond should change the Explorer background in Diamond, apparently that's not working for him and that's not right. He should just be able to change those colors in WB config though. If he can't even change the Window Background color in Diamond, it seems like there's something else going on. Bglick I should clarify that the "Explorer" LightStar and I are talking about is "File Explorer" as opposed to "Internet Explorer", in case that might be confused.

Have you rebooted since you installed WB? If not, do so. If you had a version of WB installed (including the trial) before the version you have installed now, did you uninstall the old version, reboot, install the new version, (and then reboot)? Win10 changed the rules somewhat, so some of the earlier skins won't color the explorer backgrounds as they did initially, but you can change it in WB. Check this post and Reply #2, see if it helps: https://forums.wincustomize.com/482144/page/1/#3670393 Also, some programs won't let you change the window background color.

fwiw- Loading a skin the 1st time on a Standard (non-admin) logon was a little cranky. Acted like it was loading but afterwards the taskbar and StartMenu weren't skinned, didn't check the windows. Tried applying a couple of different skins, no luck. Logged off (not reboot) while a skin was "loaded", logged back in, the skin loaded as it should at login and changing skins worked fine. Well you can get to the grey pretty easily from the other 4 and not visa-versa, so I'd have to rule out the grey. I had to test drive the gold out of curiosity and it does recolor great (but you already knew that [e digicons];)[/e] ). It does run a little brighter than the rest and won't push quite as dark as they will if that matters, it looks good. Maybe whichever color you'd prefer to work with. One other thing did occur to me while I was poking at

Do see requests for that type of thing from time to time. I like the grey, but it might be good to do it in a color that would color-shift well for a little more flexibility - not a lot of "Flats" around (and probably won't be) [e digicons]:)[/e] .

This will back up the settings: https://forums.stardock.com/404232/page/1/ It will not back up the actual image files that you are using for icons or the dock background image files, you need to back them up separately (and, if necessary, restore them to the same folder locations).

Admittedly I don't know , but I'd imagine it's more a matter of software interpretation than actual demand. Many perfectly fine pieces of hardware have been rendered "stuck in time" over the decades because the hardware manufacturers didn't want to write drivers for a new Windows version. It does however beg the question: "How long is my hardware really going to last with the "current" version of Windows that is Win10?"
