The one issue I have noticed is some of the animations are a little off. The biggest is that maximizing animations is a bit off. i.e. Groupy tabs can be seen before everything else is animated. I am using Windows 11 with the May 9th update

What a nice surprise. What I like the most about this is that it automatically turns off Windows 11's explorer tabs and replaces it with groupy's. This really connects all of the other windows 11 software all together more seamlessly.

I agree with Naroon that Windows 11 is a fine operating system and there really is no upside to downgrading to Windows 10 if on windows 11. To me Windows 11 is a lot like Windows 8, it has some gui quirks that need fixing through software customizations, i.e. start 11. Hardly anyone dares defend Windows 8, but I will. It had one of the worst start button integration ever imagined. But dare I say this.... Once I put on start 8 to have Windows 8 start menu returned then Windows 8 became

The canary Chanel is actually the starting point of Windows 12 beta. It just hasn't dropped in there yet. It is very strange how Microsoft is handling the transition so far. I do think we are all wanting the next 2 moment releases to be done with already. We all know Microsoft is clearly gearing up for their next big release.

From what I have gathered. The notepad section will need to be skinned and defined by the artists. This is something that can be done by anyone that knows how to use skin studio. However, skinning really isn't that easy for the average user. I struggle with it myself. I am sure all the stardock skins such as modern ect. will eventually get an update to fix them. Notepad was a pretty basic app that never required artists to define or skin in the past. All that changes now that Microsof
Actually, it was to shrink their change log.
They arent really shrinking the 23h2 update (aka 4 moments). The only thing being shrunk is the amount of time features are tested in the dev channel.

Moments 2 is a bit of a dud for sure. I was never a big fan of the Moments update idea to begin with. I suppose Microsoft wanted to break up all the updates instead of doing one big update on Windows 11's final year. It wouldn't make since to do one huge update for Windows 11 only to release Windows 12 beta a month later. I am still going to use Windows 11. Hopefully Windows 12 goes better though.

Honestly, I think that explorerpatcher is the best we will get for Windows 11. The reason... Windows 12 beta is probably only a year (or even less) away. I do believe the demand is high enough for a vertical taskbar and would guess that either Microsoft makes it happen or Stardock expands their taskbar development further at that time and makes it happen. Only it will likely be for Windows 12.

2 Replies 2,392 Views

That looks ugly. Stardock will likely have to update start 11 to incorporate Windows new "moments 2" features In the mean time you can press the "go back" button in Windows update "advanced options" and wait to update Windows 11 once stardock releases a fix Edit it looks like there is a fix here https://forums.stardock.com/517175/page/1/#3880108

No such program that I am aware of currently exists. For that to happen I believe you would want to find a file explorer alternative. Of the few that I know of none function the way you are wanting them to. With that said. The idea of Stardock making their own file explorer alternative actually would be kind of cool. Not a bad idea.

Those hard-coded white/brownish backgrounds are a headscratcher. Its probably why a lot of the skinners here have not messed with the windows 11 support much. When purchasing software from Stardock. Usually, the number on the end indicates what operating system you are buying for. Software is always meant to only last as long as the operating system does and a new version will need to be purchased for a newly released OS. I.E start 8 was the first start program but instead of being called start 1 it is called start 8. This means it is start for Windows 8. Same thing with Windowblinds. Windowblinds 10 is for Windows 10. Windo

With that said it is also a very old program and very likely to have compatibility issues with windows 11 in general. It no longer gets updates ect. Therefore, it is probably a requirement to use this program with the older explorer or explorerpatcher like you have done. It is not a windowblinds 11 issue
