ok, So we are talking cloud computing here and whether cloud computing is the future over traditional computing. I am not sure what the ceiling is for the cloud myself. I don't think it will be an on / off switch of one day we are using our pc and the next day our pc is completely cloud based. I think it will be a gradual change over time with trails and errors to see what works and what doesn't. I am not sure having a pc completely cloud based 100 percent of the time is really the future, it

Is the fear here that Microsoft is going to make Windows into some sort of ransomware that is going to lock everyone out of their pc's unless they pay some sort of subscription fees? I just want to make sure I am on the same page with what WaaS means

Start 11 and explorerpatcher do work together, you will just need to turn off start 11's "enhance taskbar" option. This is probably the best option for people that want a side taskbar right now. At least until one gets built for Windows 11 specifically.

I don't trust ign reviews personally. For me it comes down to user reviews. Steam reviews and user reviews on metacritic are much more reliable. So far the IGN review for Galactic Civilizations is lower then everyone else's. This makes them seem even less reliable.

I believe the intention of the uninstaller was to provide a way to soft reset functions of start 11 while also keeping settings saved. I will agree that there should be an easier complete uninstall feature. The purge feature does help, but I would also argue that it could use a touch up as there are still some residual files left behind even when using the purge. I believe I saw a user manually delete all the registry keys for start 8 on top on uninstalling start 10 (yes there are start 8 registry keys even for start 10 / 11) The registry keys are located in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8 I wish I knew the exact reg key that was causing the issue, but I do not.

Windows 12 would be a horrible idea at this point. It is better to have 1 finished OS than 2 unfinished OS's in circulation. Fortunately, I believe Windows 12 is not a serious idea yet and is more as a way to talk up their new security chip.

The latest start 11 version is 1.2. You should be able to update to that in your start 11 settings (config start 11) under "about" the bottom option. It also looks like your version of Windows 11 should have an update as well
