Again looking to draw out how people are using the system. It sounds like at least a couple of users are using it to switch between different layouts entirely. Backups are a poor use of the system; they require going back and redoing the backup of the old, then restoring a new. This is not a great system for that use. A better system would be to offer ability to switch between layouts. This would function something li
Well... I customize a lot, like many others here, and renaming and saving the backups to fit the theme I'm using is something I do all the time. I have around 50 saved backups named after the windowblinds I use most frequently.
Just as an off shoot of this. In my opinion, one of the next big evolution's in these types of software would be along the lines of making layout changing even simpler and more automatic
Hello, Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, there should be an "X" to remove Fences on the Fences header, no?
Thanks, If I do click under "personalized settings" and check mark the option "show titlebar controls on mouse over" then I do see an "x" In the past I have had the option turned off and instead used the right click on the header method. On Fences 5.80 there is a right click option "remove
Fixed for me as well
Found a bug The option to "remove a fence" is missing when right clicking the fences header. I had to roll back to 5.80 to remove a fence.
This is an old issue, but I do not believe I have ever reported it. The option "blur background" always deactivates while toggling / changing pages
Major Improvement: Folder Portals now resize lightning fast, so you can see their contents rearrange in real-time as you resize your group. It's pretty neat! And now super responsive.
Great addition. Even folder navigation is faster which will help with productivity. I can now see a real difference in speed compared to Fences 4, so that is good!
No worries, I was just confused. I don't believe you should have been charged a Fences 4 upgrade fee if you were already on Fences 4. Only if you were upgrading from Fences 2 or 3. Fences shouldnt have a version 2 in any major release since they do not include the current operating system in their version release name. I.e. start "11" is for "Windows 11"
What is this Fences 4 v2, I didn't think they made a v2? For Fences 5 permanent license, earlier this year it cost 29.99 for a single license and even more for a 5 pack. It appears now they have been condensed into just one option but at the old 1 license cost. Currently, there is no upgrade discount for permanent license so you did not miss anything. Also note purchasing a permanent license will not include Fences 6 which is due out in the not so distant future, the subscription will
Under "downloads" look for "subscription" under your software and on that page click "cancel auto payment"
wow, still doing the same thing. Should I uninstall and start over?
Yes that would be the next thing I would try.
There are two versions of Fences 5. Under "my downloads" make sure you have the OD insider version downloaded and installed.
Additionally, I do not believe Fences 6 is very far off. I suspect that it will be released by the end of this year.

My system matches yours which makes this more a head scratcher for me.
Just because you have the update doesn't mean the new taskbar features are turned on. Remember, they ae being rolled out over time. If
I do not have that feature listed. Why then does my taskbar not work? Is there an article by any chance on the roll out?
Looks like I installed the update. I usually just update without putting much thought into it. You can check to see if you have it via settings > Windows update > update history
I did find some info that may explain what is going on here https://www.windowslatest.com/2024/07/26/windows-11-kb5040527-out-with-start-taskbar-features-direct-download-msu/ This specifically; Windows 11 KB5040527 is now available as an optional update with Build 22631.3958
Does everybody else except me also see that "Windows Insider detected" note on their system as pelaird shown in his video. This do not appear on my system. Not really sure why.
I don't but I do like where your head is at. I do have OD insider access in the event 2.08 regular differs from the 2.08 insider version
Do either of you have this new Windows taskbar setting?
I actually don't have that feature yet either. This has me stumped on why Basj's system is working properly as I have been trying to test different taskbar configurations to match his
I can also reproduce this issue. Right clicking does not work for me either.
Since v2's development is finished, does that mean you are wanting to get a v3 beta version in its place for object desktop insiders?
Did I read that correct? Back in the Window Vista days stardocks OD had a lifetime subscription for 50 bucks. I would be upset to have lost that too because you know they will never offer something like that in this day and age.
Something must have gotten lost in translation here because nothing was answered at all. The OP already clearly stated that ObjectBar has long since been discontinued. The very question was why
What you could try is to reformat the drive to a different format To do this; right click on the ssd drive under "my pc" and select the "format" Under File system you should have several format options My favorite is exFAT, but I believe all your devices need to at least be running Windows 10 or higher. (If you are running modern wi
