I'm curious how this works myself and am not fully clear in this thread yet. So if I have an active Fences subscription and instead wanted an active Object Desktop subscription. And If I were to use the upgrade Object Desktop option with the discounted price by using my Fences subscription would I then be left with.... 1. Just one subscription because the Fences subscription is now upgraded to a Object desktop one instead Or 2. Two active subscr
1. Is there an option to simply upgrade, or must I purchase both again as separate things?
You will need to purchase both of these separately but there is an upgrade discount for both of them.
2. If I do this, will I lose the skins and settings that I already have? Fixed mouse-wheel scrolling inverted (from 5.55) Fixed swipe from right edge broken (from 5.57 internal) I can confirm both of these issues from the previous version are now fixed and working for me in the latest 5.58 build

These are some good suggestions. I am glad to see someone else besides myself asking for tabbed fences. I honestly can not think of a better feature to add then this one. Also, adding customizations to Fences is a good way to bring custom looks to Windows 11. Something that has been tricky so far this generation. +1 votes for both from me.

If you see the words classic subscription; that is definitely what you have. It looks like maybe you lucked out unless you renewed an old classic subscription last July?
I don't believe the Classic subscription will be available.
Fortunately that is not correct. You can in fact let a classic subscription lapse and choose to renew at a later date. All you have to do is click renew from your d

I don't want to buy if there are no clear plans to upgrade. Object Dock has some cool stuff but a lot of it is only good for a desktop or docked PC where you have multiple monitors. Working on a 13" laptop diminishing the impact of Object Dock. I might be interested the Desktop GPT. I like Group

When it comes to copilot+ there are a few things to take into consideration. Arm processors have gotten more powerful. More powerful = less battery life even on an arm cpu. Initial tests shows that a ryzen "hs" version cpu is pretty close in comparison to a new arm cpu in actual battery life. Even some intel cpu's are getting good battery life in some setups. The gap really isnt very far at all. Additionally, intel and AMD are set to release their copilot cpu's very soon and i

You really have to give Microsoft some blame here for the changing of the times. Windows 10 is / was a very theme friendly OS. Windows 11 simply isnt. I'd go as far as to say Microsoft has kind of been unfriendly to third party's throughout Windows 11. As far as theming and skinning goes, there is a Windows 11 problem that need addressed before themes can make a comeback on a Windows 11 device. One solution is to splice in Windows 10 parts to get many of the legacy skins working prope

So I have been beta testing the new phone side bar and have some thoughts on the subject. First off, I truly believe that a side bar does in fact showcase a missing part in a traditional windows 11 start menu. The start menu has always seemed to be missing a certain something. Having the sidebar does make the start menu look more complete. Second, stardocks windows pro style does in fact have a really useful sidebar. Perhaps, the folder options on a sidebar is more useful then

Fences 5 (arm cpu version) is still in its beta testing phase. Unfortunately, the beta versions that do support arm cpus that would work on your snapdragon X cpu are exclusive to Object Desktop subscribers. OD members get early access to certain content. For non OD subscribers you will have to wait until Fences 5 (arm version) is released out of its beta testing.

The widget to the right side is an OS change with any current version of 24h2 (released with copilot+ or any version of an insider preview for the rest of us) Widgets simply do not appear with "enhanced taskbar" on start 11v2 while using any version of 24h2. However, if "enhanced taskbar" is turned off widgets will appear as normal. This is what I have had to do for the last month or so. Microsoft's update policy is pretty unpredictable right now, but sure enough the widgets t

More ai cpu's will follow suite in the coming weeks.

I think the point here is that stardock will never hack Windows 10 parts into a Windows 11 system. Their way of doing software is to actually create it from the ground up. If start 11 does allow the taskbar to move that will mean a whole lot more work to get functional then what Startallback and explorerpatcher do. From stardocks point of view startallback uses shortcuts rather then long term solutions. Certainly we can all debate the pros and cons of using Windows 10 parts on a Windo
Surprisingly, there were mostly users wanting access to "Recall" without a Copilot+ PC. I guess we are the minority here.
This probably has more to do with the fact that people want to run AI features off of their gpu instead of a new AI cpu. It may come down to a matter of principle rather than on how good recall actually is. Also, this piece of feedback is probably what led Microsoft to allow rtx 40 series gpu's to run
