So you want me to admit that endorphins make people feel good? I already know that. I also know that it's a "false" good, and that the drug must be continually taken to maintain the high. And voila, we have you. Silver, you're right that atheism regards belief. But the specifics is that it only believes what is objectively provable. I believe that 1 = 1, for example. I will be very happy if it turns out there's a God. I will be

I leave it open for comments because sometimes people have interesting things to say that make me think. You are misunderstanding me. I don't care what people, in general, think - particularly if I find their arguments to be intellectually lacking. You gave an argument that was intellectually lacking. Furthermore, I didn't want to compare numbers, I just threw mine out. It is as objective as the sky is blue that YOU then wanted to compare. Do

Haha. Someone got his buttons pushed. I'm such a puppeteer sometimes. It wasn't my intention, though.
Dude, seriously - with all due respect - take your attitude and self righteousness and shove it where it doesn't shine.
Dude, seriously, I don't give a fuck what you think. This is my blog, and if you see something you don't like, just leave. Go publish articles of your own...I couldn't care less who reads the shit I wri

This is a ramble...be forewarned. I actually grew up in South Carolina. Not a choice of my own, I assure you. So this morning I see Facebook friends that are there moaning about the SC governor announcing that he was doing the horizontal polka with some Argentinian chick. None of them expressed concern for his wife...they all expressed concern for the state. What's wrong with the state again? That the head of it is now esta

Agnosticism=atheism. It is a misnomer that "atheist" means there is NOT a God. You break it down in latin and get back to me. I can't be bothered with dealing with presumptions. Atheism only means "I don't actively believe in." I'm just as sick of the fence sitting bullshit as I am anything else. People think it's cool to be "agnostic" because they are admitting they "don't know." Well, atheism is the exact same thing without being a fucking pussy abo

Huh? Not quite Ock? I posted and you responded and totally mentioned nothing regarding the scientific data I presented. You just spooged the same crud Lula did. It's quite valid, and quite why there is a 50 million year margin of error. That doesn't change the fact that even with a 50 million year margin of error, many things are dated way beyond 10,000 years. And what of the speed of light? You don't find it miraculous a

Whoever is pining over the fact that KFC is being unjustly dealt with can kiss my ass. The world has dealt with her kind for way too long, and I'm not in the least apologetic over someone who very clearly denies reason for the sake of making sure she "lives forever." I'm sick and tired of these people. I do not deny that there is a God. I do not deny that it is a Christian God. I don't deny any damn thing regarding God. I just don't know. T

Maybe not, but it DOES prove that it's at least 25,000. Want me to get data on other stars/galaxies that proves it's older, yet? Nope. Eat sand, baby.

God then also gave us the knowledge to use radiometric dating to pursue the age of things (like rocks, for example) Yes? Can we take advantage of God to date the universe we live in? Only if it totals 10,000 years or less according to creationists. Silver, you don't know me. And that's cool. I was here long before almost everyone that is here now - not that I am suggesting that means anything - it doesn't.

Silver, you have made my point quite well, and for that I thank you. If it escapes anyone else, I simply am pointing out that in a crisis physical situation, people that put all their money on God don't react as if that is so. They react as if knowledge is more important. (Which it is) If the religious TRULY believed that everything is a part of God's plan, they wouldn't look both ways before crossing a street. But they do. Thu

I've become very accustomed to Facebook. In fact, it was Facebook that was the sole reason I hooked up with 8 of my old high school buddies for a party about one month ago. It was an awesome party, and we all just shook our heads at the awesomeness of Facebook bringing old ties back to life. It's a party which will grow and become annual. But there's a downside. I have to keep my mouth shut sometimes, and anyone here that knows me KNOWS that I re

Well your head is planted in the sand, Ock No, your head is, KFC No your head is, Ock. No, yours is Lula Just wanted to get those posts out of the way. Perhaps I should have added some nyaa nyaas to it. Oh well, nobody is perfect.

Actually, Lucas, you said that pretty well. No one who's entire view of life is COMPLETELY DEPENDENT on the Earth being 10k years old or less is EVER going to see radiometric dating, or the fact that it takes 25,000 years for an object 25,000 light years away to become visible to us, as any kind of proof that they are wrong. It's really hard to hear when your head is planted in the sand.

Lula, That's why the error ratio is 30-50 million years. In a measurement where the subject is measured to be 3 billion years old, the worst case scenario is that it's really 2.95 billion years old. Guess what...you know those stars you see out there? Thousands upon thousands of them are more than 10,000 light years away. The nearest galaxy to the Milky Way is actually inside the Milky way, and it's distance from us is 25,000 light y

The top article is 300 pages of people pretending to ban each other from the forums. That's the best the community can come up with, I guess. Unfortunately, I shan't be the interest savior, but if the mood hits me, I'll crank out something. I never have done it for the readership.

QFT __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I work as a scientist in the area of coating nanotechnology, or more precisely in the development of so called nano sputtering methods. Nano sputtering is a way to position single atoms or clusters of many atoms onto a surface to form a pattern with a nanometer thickness. Often the result is rather random; it is a little bit like firing off a shotgun against a wa
