i had the same problem yesterday; the freighter would stop next to the target planet and do nothing ... and it is 1.11. ... and i still owned the planet .. but i think it is not so severe as long as the other freighters work (and they did in my game)

:notsure:

well, thank you anyway. It was only a tiny galaxy ... would have been worse if i had played for days (and not only 3 Hours) ... i still have my initial starting position which was very good, so i will try again and be cautious with my money . I read that to much income could result in zero scores (and I had about 50000!).. ;)

... maybe the starbases should get more hitpoints, so that even a huge ship has to spend more than one turn to destroy it. Would make sense, wouldn't it: least i imagine a starbase built by 10-20 Constructors would be quite massive ;)
Excaliburs are strong but, you have to have military resources and starship quality improvements to get the full use out of them. Any ship can take out higher ones if it has the benefit mil resources etc and the other guy doesnt
That's right but even if you have an excalibur yourself defending a starbase or terror star he doesnt stand a chance against another excalibur's attack. In the game i mentioned above i had 20+ Excaliburs but always had to fear that the yor detect

...
This is probably stupid, however fixing it would create a different problem. You could attack with 1 troop, do some attrocity to reduce the planet quality, never having the real potential to do any damage.
thats right: maybe the degree of destruction ought to be related to the amount of troops you use for the invasion.

isn't it strange that you can use the nastiest attacks on plantes wothout reducing their quality as long as you dont succeed in invading the system that turn. e.g. you reduce the defenders with mass drivers in one round and then invade the planet with traditional warfare in the next round: the planet will remain unharmed. I mean thats nice but also not very logical ... :notsure:

am i the only one who thinks excalibur ships are too strong, their defense is very low, so you cant even usem to defend your starbases .... in my last game i was first (military wise) then the yor produced 2 or 3 excalibur and destroyed my 40++ Overlords and Avatars ... well i won in the end but i still believe the ex.'s attack rating is too high. what do you think ..?

thanks for your work; having played some games i have a couple of suggestions myself: 1. A huge starbase should be "defendable" gainst excalibur ships (anyways these have an attack value much too strong compared to the defense ... how do you defend against excaliburs anyway?); 2. ... you should be able to trade "maps" Christian

... frustration, yeah ... well, I did not manage to download the update, finally I had tried too often and my account got blocked ("you exeeded ... Number of downloads etc"). I was frustrated, too. then I sent one (!) e-mail, got an answer two days later and my problem was solved! Now that is support. And don't forget frogboys advice and insightful threads on this very board. Thanx stardock!
Point is, I think that trade between your own planets is already factored into tax income. For example the Economic Exchange which increases economic activity, i.e. trade.
... ahh see the point: but on the other hand, there is no possibility of blocking domestic trade then!? e.g. by besieging a planet (system)
You took the words right out of my mouth Theoden! ..sure it is better to trade with other civs; i also think it ought to be more profitable than trading with your own planets ... but it could be included as an option, just in case nobody likes you (because you are "very" evil ;) ) ... off course this "inner trade" should not be too powerful ... anyway i like the way it works, too.
