I was unable to find a phone number on Stardock.com, so that means they probably don't want people calling...perhaps you can try their IRC server. Go to irc.stardock.com, find channel #Stardock, and you might get the help you need there.

By far, the best skins I've used on Windows 2000, is the work of SZ1. No other skins seemed to perform and look as good as his. Just hope you're into the minimal look. https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?authorid=144981

I'm very happy everyone likes the idea, and I'd be more than willing to work with some of the higher-ups (Admins and elderly-skinning folk alike), it's just that, an idea. I don't have to be the one running it. Though, a good idea with no volunteers to back it up...isn't very good. Just to clear up a few points, Essencay and Hippy...you guys are right. I was thinking of this being more like movi

Koasati, that's a very good point you made. I was just thinking about that myself, so expect to see lots of different expert reviewers. Now all we need is more volunteers. I'm gone for the night, so if anyone want's to volunteer, just post here or you can email me. The address is in my profile. [Messa

Essencay, while skinners may or may not want constructive criticism, the downloaders would sure like to know also. It's great if the skinners do appreciate the review, but it's not a necessity. Constructive criticism is a rare thing now-a-days, so if they don't like the review...they should make a better skin next time. I'll be keeping notes of who wants to try it out. I'll let the thread live fo

I have an idea I want to run by you guys. I want to start a group that will rate and review skins. Now, not just your random rating and comment, a very thorough review, with detailed explanations as to why, what, where and when. Also, it MUST require atleast 3 very knowledgeable people. Each person being an expert in his/her field, thus being able to give a better explanation. Here's an example... We would rate a skin on categories... Originality Graphics Assembly<

Hmmm...can't ya just finish like a couple of those 20? What's a couple more skins to a mindless puppet? Then you can upload the rest and hope that whoever downloads your work will be able to put a finishing touch worthy of your skills. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0

Only gripe with Firefox: Why can't it automatically open windows in tabs? I hated that too when I first started using Firefox, then by accident I discovered something. If you click on a link with the mouse wheel, it will open that link in a new tab. It was that discovery that has kept me using Firefox. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/imag

I don't think it will affect your software. What might happen is when you create a new username, some software could become invisible to your new name. It will still be there on your HD, but not in your 'All Programs' menu. If that's the case, all you need to do is create the links yourself or reinstall the software.

I like the blog-news style very much! I just wish Frogboy would make use of the "Click here for full story" link. It's always nice to know the fine details of things, which a lot of the times don't need a news item on their own, so make a blog, talk about them all...and there you go!

That's a feature of XP, when you change your name, it will change it on the surface, but still keep your real username. So that's why Sysmetrix is showing you your old name. The only way to change it completely is to make a new username. If you do create a new name, you can then remove the old one, XP will give you an option to delete or keep the files of your old name. Ahhh...another one of these.... I'm still working at the same dead-end job...it's really not important anymore...just read back on one of the older threads... I am looking to change my profession though, I might become a real-estate Title Closer, my mother, my uncle and my cousin are all closers, so it's only natural...right? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.g

Why is it that we fight for all the wrong reasons? Why is it that instead of working on common goals we fight each other? Why does power corrupt so many people? Why do we constantly make the point of "I'm bigger and better than you!" Why can't we all just get along... $5 says we invade Iran 2 weeks before the election...

It's a method of growth, for all sides. The masters will want to make as much money as they can (otherwise whats the point of making a premium skin) so expect GUIO style or better quality and attention to detail, the non-masters will want to get up to master so they too can reap the benefits, they will want to impress, so they try harder. The user gets a ton more premium skins to choose from, a store full of skins from the masters. WinCustomize becomes the only worth-while marketplace for ski

For sure, file-sharing programs themselves are 100% legal. If they were not legal, they would not be available on sites like download.com, etc. It's the trading of copyrighted stuff that is illegal, just like Essencay said...
