I upgraded to Drengin.net and the game played since then won't submit. I remember seeing this problem posted before, but can't find the answer on how to coordinate this. thanks for your help.
Did that, but haven't heard back from them yet.
They changed my subscription to the correct one that I wanted. Thanks, Stardock. You're great (most of the time :) )
Sending a note to mailto: Email explaining what happened would be the best course of action concerning the mistake.
Did that, but haven't heard back from them yet.
Go to www.galciv.com, click the purchase link, scroll down and there will be a $39.95 Drengin upgrade above the full priced one.
I did that and ended up purchasing another copy of CalCiv. I thought I was purchasing an upgrade to Drengin.net. When I get the receipt in the mail, I had another serial number for GalCiv and no access to any other stuff on Drengin.net.
I submitted 3 games today with the new release (AP 1.51), but the 4th game, after submission, did not show up in any of the metrics: not in the number of games, the score, or in the list of games I have played. [Message Edited]
I double checked. I only have one email address that I really use. I tried a couple of others, which I'm sure I didn't use, and the same thing happens..
Have you looked at "my account" - a button on the side of this forum. There it will list an email account which should be the one you use.
I was just uncertain because Brad did not mention it in his most recent post. But 1/2 off with already having GalCiv works well.
I upgraded for $35 on 30 Jun. So I know it was good til then.
If you don't already have Drengin.net and are even remotely tempted to get it, I would recommend doing it soon because the price is going to go up to $99 with the upgrade price going up to $55 in a couple weeks due to a major SERIES of announcements. That's all I'm going to say.
First post in the thread. Yes it will be discounted for upgrade, but the upgrade price was $35 (perhaps still is)
Micromanagement isn't one of my favorite game-winning strategies, but I would lay odds my AI competition "knows" how the formulas work and isn't going to be wasting money over-paying for research.
I suspect you are correct. I base this on the speed with which they can acquire the research to get a TG or wonder. But, the type of dynamic control you are asking for is not doable in any of the Mods that I am aware of. Mod only set parameters at the start of the gam
I have all of them loaded and use them all, well, they are available to be used. ;)
Is there a way of switching the game so that it works the old way?
There are options you can check in the main menu. These can be checked or unchecked during game play. Review these options to see if one of these needs to be unchecked or checked.
Can someone provide a link to upgrade to Dgrengin.Net?
Never mind. I found it :)
Can someone provide a link to upgrade to Dgrengin.Net?
Sorry Damoose!but its a LUNCH!! #100, nice snack! Just couldn't resist...
Haven't seen damoose around in a while. He must be out to lunch :D LOL :D LOL
I am not really sure what it would cost to convince Civs to stop fighting.
Not much. A small bribe usually will convince them to stop.
My, this thread has certaintly taken a serious turn
Next thing you know damoose will be yelling "LUNCH" :D
Of course, others might disagree
If we all agreed, we wouldn't need to post. We would know that everyone agreed with me. :D LOL
As for trading with the AI, I fail to see how that is cheese no matter when you trade with them. They certainly trade amongst themselves.
I only say it is cheese because you can get 10 techs to 1 from a minor (in some cases), or at least substantially more than you get from trading with a standard AI.
Minors.. what minors.. I have them turned off... I duno if thats cheese... I think it could actually make the game harder
If you trade with AIs, it is cheese in the early game. In the late game, they struggle to survive as everyont wants their worlds and they seem to not have the resources to do research.
I can't crank out games like some people
You don't get to be a pawnbroker by cranking out games, just by playing them. They all add up eventually.
I have now seen the following event twice: When the UP votes to share techs and you vote for 2,4,8, 16, I get the response back that they voted to share 8. Then I get the response that unfortunately, I was so far advanced that I did not receive any techs, but the others made out like bandits. then I start receivin techs, 56 of them, 8 from each AI. Something wrong here in the state of Denmark :D LOL :D
actually the right mods make the game way faster
I can play a standard game in less than an hour. with mods, I can make it 10-20 minutes faster, but not much more. That amounts to about 10-20 moves, maybe a few more. I am not saying the mods don't make it faster, but there are more things to research with mods than withoug them. This takes time and it may not be worth it in terms of the Meta. In terms of playing for fun, definately worth it.
it any wonder that people will use mods to make their games easier
I find that mods make it harder, as they add things to do that take time. Time is the number one issue in the Metaverse. Your score in the Meta is directly related to how much time you spend on a game, and, therefore, how many games you can play in a give amount of time. Mods make the game more fun. They provide some benefit, but the AI also benefits. Can you skew the benefit, maybe. Is that
