I just tried to submit a game a few minutes ago and I got an error message saying that I was using an unsupported map or scenario, despite the fact that I was on a completely random map without a change of rules. I am working on a campaign of scenarios, but this was not using anything from it. I can provide a save if it's needed.
Fleetlord. This is a problem that I have both posted somewhere in this thread or one of the earlier ones and in private email to CariElf. The
if you launch about 65 million people and land them, you get an extra 65 million pop every time.
If you can keep the morale up, then taxes should increase drastically, giving a lot more cash. Can you max out the planet to 100B this way? From what you say, one might be able to. This would be great for military victorys. Need a few more million troops, just load them up, land them double the transports, load them land them ... Overwelm those Yor :D LOL :D
Once you start the game there is no way you should be able to alter the data for the game play, in this case the political party. It seems that the game itself recognised something was up (hence the anomolous score)which lead Stardock to suspect something.
I don't disagree with you, but I don't think in R's case that he modified the data. He modifed the process, which I think is an important point. The data in the game got confused because of the process change. N

J.T.,
If someone newer can remember the wording I think that it'll help..
Important Notice: The Metaverse submits more than just your score. It also uploads game data that can be used to calculate ones score. If we believe users are modifying the game in such a way designed to artificially inflate scores, we will remove that player from the Metaverse. There will be no warnings.

I think the last turn in the discussion has revealed a new issue that appears to be at the heart and heat of the discussion. There appears to be the following "types" of games that can be played: private and public (metaverse). In private play, you can do what you want however you want. How you play privately will depend upon your own private ethics. In public play, Stardock has in fact created a differt game then simple Galciv would imply. They have created a game
Well if you're going to make claims like that you ought to be able to show the quote.
CariElf. I apologize if I make an unwarented claim. Here is the quote from Frogboy: by Avatar Frogboy - 6/18/2004 4:49:06 PM As some people may have noticed, Stardock conducted a Metaverse scoring audit. The intention is to try to ensure the general integrity of the Metaverse. According to the Metaverse auditors, there were a number of top ranked players who ha
One of the reasons a game may get an anomalous score is to prevent overly powerful mods giving the player a huge advantage over the AI.
One of the most frequent mods is for an increased in PQ. This can, but not necessarily, result in an annomolous score. There is a parameter in the Status page called Planet Quality. When it goes over 40 you get an anomolous score. So it is ok up till then, but no over. In other words, it is not a cheat until you go over 40 in PQ in
If he would like to appeal for his scores to be restored, he will have to wait until Brad gets back from his vacation, and if he has any of those save games, he had better hang on to them.
Brad (I think he was the one who said it, I would have to go back and look) said that the games were not zeroed, just removed from the Metaverse.
Sorry to disagree here but I sincerely doubt the intent is to use an editor to change parameters set at the beginning of the game.
Terl, He used mods. MOds are made and used. I have accidently used mods that I had edited in the middle of a game. I my case, the differences were small. Was that game a cheat? Or are we arguing something else here. If you download a new version of GalCiv in the middle of a game and it doesn't screw up the game, is that a cheat? Sh

Hey guys and gals. Here is how I understood what Renegade said. Play the game with the mod pol party that gives all the cheese that the AI gets (and maybe more) in a Masso game. Ally with all but one of the AIs. To restart the game, I think he means save the game. Exit GalCiv. Either edit or rename the pol party to the normal pol part of the same name (why edit it all the time, when all you have to do is rename it) Restart (reload) GalCiv. GalCiv than brings in the pol parties from the fol
Well the lack of response from Stardock proves my case, they don't have evidence of cheating and they are just punishing "cheesie tactics". So be aware you could be next.
Renegade, when you say lack of response, are you refering to public forum response, or to your private email to them? I urge you to reponse to the moinitor mentioned in previous posts from Stardock and others. If they don't respond to you in private, then I think we as a community can try to do somethi
Weyr why not get him to email the mod to you. Enough guessing.
I have done a little experimenting. I can play a huge, masso, rare game in under an hour and get 60k WITHOUT the use of Mods. Standard AP1.5 game. I do occasionaly lose a star system to end the game, but hey, whats a few billion citizens :D LOL :D

You should also be aware that any map you create will not submit to the Metaverse. My experience so far on using maps generated by other than Stardock is that you will get a message that says: " The game is using an unauthoized custom map or scenario" or something similar to that (the exact quote is at home). The real problem is it sets a flag somewhere in the game that is not reset until you load a Stardock custom map. Any games on standard random maps will not submit either after you use yo
I find it hard to get ship techs because they do not like to trade them.
Newfy, I find that the AI are only willing to give up the ship techs when they offer you a ship tech for some trifle tech, such as drones or other building block in what they has set as a high priority. I have been given all the way up to Overlords in the last game I played. I never use them though :D LOL
if its random then the odds of the same map coming up on two computers is the same as coming up on one. Next to zero
The problem is if they both start out with the same seed, then it is possible in a very non minimal probablity that the same game could be generated, at least in its initial settings. Once started, if they never reset the seed on that computer, then, yes, minimal probability. But the way random number generators work, two computers, starting out at the sa
