One statement to make things clear, I didn't hack any game ID
Renegade, thanks for the comment. Would you be willing to provide a detailed description of the mod? If not here in the forum, how about in the Senate Halls?
I am wondering why this audit has you so bent?
Because it is arbitrary and without a way to validate what has been said. Do we have a right to validate what they say? No. In this I think you all agree. They can do what they want without explanation. They have done just that.
These people have not been removed because they are not cheating.
True, they have not been removed. Nor have I or you. But we have been examined because we were submitting more than one game a day. Does this imply that they thought we might be cheating?
If they had have given us a hex dump of the data transmitted then others could be tempted to follow and try it out for themselves
This is BS. I am sorry, but if Stardock can say they can detect cheaters, then telling people how they do it doesn't give people the information necessary to cheat. I did not ask for a hex or binary dump. I merely said that they can say something like the following: "Stardock has determined that cheating took place in the following area and
Once again thanks goes out to Stardock for all their ongoing support and dilligence in maintaining the great Game system
I agree, too bad they don't back up their actions with facts that can be evaluated. What we have is one person's word against another. Somehow that leaves me with less enthusiasm for either side in this controversy. Both sides should disclose in detail what they have done and how "cheating" was determined. Remember, once before, apparently, a person
I agree... I hate cheats
Me too, too bad that we may never know the truth in this matter. Renegade says he did cheat. Loth says he played every game. I have not seen proof on either side.
if you're good, you're not gonna get an alliance victory with all evil civs, I'd imagine).
Actually, I almost always get alliance victories with Pure Evil aliens. The Drengin, when week, often surrender to me, not other evil. I am always working toward Pure Good, but usually end up as Chaotic Good.

The custom map submitted to the library should not be used. Apparently there is a possible bug in AP that only allows submittal of games that use Stardock generated custom maps. My experience after using the library custom map is that no games can be submitted and you get the error message of "This game is using an unauthorized custome map or scenario." You must load a Stardock custome map before any games will be accepted.
I just loaded the Map Editor and according to app, it is GCEditor v 1.0 I didn't see a 1.50.006. Does this thing generate an error report? I can send it to you.
CariElf is refering to the version of AP, which you can find on Stardock or when you play a game, the main menu has the version number on the top of the page.

From time to time I get a CTD when I do the following: Run GalCiv AP and get the screen menu of a circle with boxes for Map Eidtor and Scnario Editor, Campaign Editor, Play Game, and Exit. When I press the play game button, the screen goes dark, like it ususally does, but instead of the main menu appearing, it CTDs. The screen menu is still there. I can press the Play Game button as much as I like and it never starts a game. Often, if I reboot the computer, things will work. But, n

This is not the second time this has happened in AP. If you play a game, whether you finish or not I don't know, since I did not finish, with a custom map, the next game you play on a normal AP huge, sparce, maso map, the game won't submit. It tells me that I am using an unauthorized custome map or scenario. The last time this happend, it took three games before it cleared up, either because of reloading the game (I think that is what I did) or something else. I will try reloading the game a
User created maps would still not have identical values. There are always fluctuations from game to game
This implies to me that a vaule is created for each map, based on some algorithm of planet location. Also, it implies to me that there is some slight random position of star systems at the start of a game that might not take place if a map is utilized multiple time after the start had taken place. Is this what you mean by value of a map and that values are no
Given that GalCiv (base game certainly) has random maps, the odds of two games having identical maps are about zero.
Forgboy, that depends on the seed and other things in the random number generator used to generate the "random maps." If a method is used to always look for similar maps, say centered in the galaxy with a starting Sol of 19+ and a rare, clustered, Huge or larger map, this would limit the amount of randomness to get a playable game for 7 AI and a human play
