I just noticed in the past several games, since I started playing "tough" level on small maps that the assignment for the AI level is different on the submission window than what I had assigned them. For example, I assigned all as "bright" with one as "Intelligent." In the submit window after the game, they are labelded "Normal" with one as "Intelligent." Not sure what difference it makes since the score is correct on Metaverse and the level of the game is correct.
Actual
When the submission screen came up it showed them all as having a rating of "beginner".
I reported this in another threat - don't remember which - and it was confirmed by another player. CariElf said she would look into it. There did not appear to be any consequences, just a cosmetic bug.

I just got killed by the Draginol (Dread Lords). They took over Sol, all three habitibal planets. I had no other Star system, so the game ended. Interesting in that it said I had a military victory with about 640 points. I uploaded it, but I don't see it on Metaverse at this time. Usually see them right away. I had been doing espionage since the beginning of the game and was at the highest level. First time I have not done enough to stop them from appearing. :sniff!:

CaiElf, Indeed, the process you went through to verify the problem was complex and attests to you astute comprehension of the guts (technical term LOL LOL ) of the game. But, I don't understand from what you said how sutting the game down ad restarting it made room for more graphics. From what you said, it sounds like a byte overflow on a counter that allocates so much space per count. For the shutdown to clean up this, it must mean that some of the counts are redundant and restarting o

My experience is that I can raise taxes to 90% and sometime higher if the approval rating is 100%. Approval rating is tied to morale, i.e. as approval goes up, morale goes up and as approval goes down, morale goes down. My strategy is to raise taxes to the level of approval I want at the particualr time in the game. ~SDC~ [Message Edited] [Message Edited]

One of the issues that comes up from time to time is to limit the number of levels on a SB. This usually comes up before I gain control of the UP, so it is usually limited to 4. This is not enough to really get other planets/star systems to convert. I accidently discovered a way around this. If you try to build up by one constructor at a time, you will limited to 4 constructors, one to build the SB and three levels and any type, same or mixed. But, if you stack the constructors 15 or more d

I completed another game with all mods installed. BTW, there is another mod that doesn't work correctly - the Theme Park mod to SB in the Quality area does not work. I submitted my game to Metaverse and it was NOT anomolous. Now, I say to myself, what did I do differently? The only thing that I can think of is that I refused to trade with majors for until two council meetins had passed (I assume that this is two years). I ammased over 225,000 bc before I started the end game of taking over

I had an anomolous game in my Metaverse listing, with two good games after the anomolous game. On this past Sunday, 4 Jan, I posted another anomolous game. The previous anomolous game is now a valid game. Apparently the anomolous game only remains anomolous until you post another one. I had indicated in another post that this had happened, i.e., an anomolous game had changed, but had not directly liked the change to the submission of another anomolous game. Is this a bug or a feature? <

Here is a quote from Hawaii-5-0 on the starbase mod problems #5 by Diplomat HawaiiFive-O - 6/24/2003 11:04:51 AM Here's why you are having problems with the SB Modules. SB Module IDs have to be contiguous. If you leave a gap, all modules after the gap will show up on the screen where you decide what module you want to build next, but they won't allow themselves to be 'planted', as you've described. They also need to be unique. The 3 SB Modules in JoB's mod a

Yes,the starbase mod that doesn't work is "Red Star" Apparently I did not follow the directions correctly on the nano mining mods - I just loaded them. My personal believe is that mods should be self contained. This raises an issue with political parties. Why cannot not they be dynamically numbered when loaded instead of a fixed number? Seems like that would be an easy thing to do. ~SDC~

Well, I thought maybe I had screwed up some of the downloads, so I redownloaded all the Mods and played another small game - resulting in another anomolous score. There are 3 different mods that do not work properly and should be fixed or removed from the GalCiv site. Two of them are related to the nanomining. The sympton is that constructor will not disappear, it just stays on top of the starbase. The third one in in the defense of the starbase area. Same sysmpton. When I look into this p

I play small games. My strategy is simple - set the technology to least number of months and work up from there. I don't exploit minor races. I trade with them. I almost never trade techs unless a request is made by an AI. In those cases, I always trade. I have the system set to only win by military victory. With Mods, this strategy will generate anomolous scores, but no anomolous scores when played without mods. dennis ~SDC~

I am now abvialent about using Mods in games I post to Metaserve. For a while, there were not problem. Then, I started getting anomolous games. I posted two. The first one, I kept reposting and eventually it was reported correctly, i.e., what my correct scores was, etc. The second game is still anomolous. Apparently an anomolous game is not counted in all areas correctly, unless I misintrepret the legend. I have played 15 games. When you have played 15 games, you are supposed to be promo
