Maybe i can only try to submit a certain game once and the program remebers it and prevents submiting the same one twice?
No, I have submitted games multiple times, gone back to the saved endgame and did a few more turns, and the resubmitted. You don't get multiple saves, but the last save replaces the previous save
Try reloading from your last good save, delete the endgame save, win again, then re-submit. Odds are, it should work.
This is what I s
I have 2 aliases - and the mispelled one shows up first. I just sent my game score to never-never land *grrr!* because I forgot to change to the "right" name. Is there any way to delete it? Is it in an ini file or something?
To submit a game you have to use the same name you used to register the game with. to change that name you have re-register you game with the new name. You will lose all the games submitted under the previous name. You can also ask CariElf to chang
After clicking submit, screen goes immediately to main menu.
When this happened to me, I cleaned out all the old saved games, renamed the saved game I wanted to reload. Finished the game again (usually the last save is the SaveEndGame file) and it then forms a new SaveEndGame file. Now you are submitting from a clean file, and with any luck, it should work.
I can's say I much like the option of having a peace treaty include the breaking of an alliance
PJ, they would not have to break an alliance. They could do what the human council does when you are allied to two AIs and they go to war - you stay neutral. So, if you make peace with one of the AIs and the other opts to carry on the war, the AI tha made peace could remain neutral. The neutrality might cost something abit more, since they really don't have an alliance with

My strategy is to start funding espionage and destabilization early in the game, as soon as all the players have been contracted in some way. I push the slider on destabilization until the first number comes up - usually around 1 or 2 bc. I push the espionage slider to be twice the destablization slider number. I then leave them there throughout the game. By the time the game is almost over, I am stealing techs almost every other turn and the amount being spend on the one or two AIs left in
Sometimes when I double click on a system to bring up the planet screen and the star was in the same part of the screen that the military or social projects are it registers as a click there and changes the project. Could that be the cause of you problem, Weyrleader?
PJ, I am not sure. I have not noticed that correlation. I will try to see if that correlation exists when it happens again. ~SDC~

In the few games I have played since upgrading (one anomolous, two painful, and one crippling) I have noticed that from time to time, when checking on a planet to see what it was producing, the proudction had changed from, say an Overloard, to a BattleAxe. They always seem about ready to complete (but I am not sure they ever do, I will have to check that). I reset them to Overlord and continue. So far my impression is that it happens at leat a dozen time in a game. ~SDC~
Have you ever actually TRIED stealing candy from a baby? It's not as easy as you might think
Actually, I have. When my girls were small. Now, maybe they gave it to me because I was their father, but they eventually got even by crying for help - and their mother came running. Now, I would reather deal with the baby than the angry mother :D :D :sniff!: :HOT: ~SDC~ BTW, I had the same experience with a minor. I didn't check to see if a major was allied
Drengin Empire never seems to do any research
I noticed this also. Early in the game, when you check to see what techs the AIs have, the Drengin almost never have any, ie. you have more than they do, while the others have tons more than you do. Also, their military shoots sky high very early. This forces me to research Corvetts early so I can avoid paying tribute to the fuzzy bear ~SDC~
I do think they should be discouraged... or even prevented... from building wonders and trade goods
Actually, I kind of like it when they do. They are easier to obtain from a "minor" than an "adult" - like stealing candy from a baby :D :D :D LOL ~SDC~
I think it's also cheesy that they would trade with you at all after they had lost their last planet
Ah, the trade before death syndrome. My experience is that the AI don't know that they have lost their last planet. They play to the end like there was no tomorrow. :D LOL :D LOL :D LOL Actually, I think this is an artifact of the turn-based game. You kill their last planet on your turn. They don't know it until after your turn. So if you want to trade
So what should I do????
This is an easy answer - get GalCiv. It beats the others hands down today, and is being improved for tomorrow. They listen to your wants, complaints, etc. And the people on the boards will help with almost any thing you ask about. If you are lost, just ask (I know this is hard for us spacemen, but swallow that pride and send the question along. No one will embarass you)
1. Save the game regularly (usinga few different names/numbers.. eg: Mygame1,2,3,4 )2. after saving the game select retire from the main menu3. check your score.. if your MVP = 0 then reload from a prevous save.. if not.. then reload the latest saved game and continue..

Be wary about the AI trade round and wonder/good rush on reloading a game .
Thanks for the tips. I normally don't sava a game once I start - even if the game goes on for 3 or more
I am under the impression that military victory scores higher, I hope I'm not wrong
You are correct. But military victory can be achieved in multiple ways. For example, you can make a culture into a military victory by unchecking all the types of victories, leaving only military victory. Thus, when you take over the last planet, how ever you do it, it counts as a military victory. You can, of course, win culturally until the last planet and then terrorstar them into

I had a 13,000 something score, a long enjoyable game, only to find out that on the submit screen my score turned to 0 and when submitted it said anomolous. I did all the same things I have done in the past when playing with MODS: don't trade early, don't milk the minors until middle or late game (get in a war with them, ask for peace two turns latter, and take everything they have for technology and wonders :D LOL ;p ), etc. Please, we need something that alerts one to when an anom

In v1.2 there is a typo that has four % signs in a row. It show up when the explorer hits a hotspot. I think it says something about increasing ?? by %%%%. I have seen it twice so I will write it down next time it pops up and report again so that you can find it, unless you can search for "%%%%"
This requires a combination of population (money), trade, diplomatic relationship, military strength, production capcity and of course a healthy bribe
In my previous post, I did not say where I was in each of these elements. My money was about 45,000bc, not a lot, but enough on a small map. My military strengh according to the graph was the highest, but I did not check the numbers themselves. I was trading with 3 routes to each AI. My production capacity was high as I
