what happens when you click on the start button is you are calling explorer. Explorer and dos don't mix well in xp.

oh yes the font is from star wars alien or something. it doesn't say much. I wouldn't try to read it unless you are a star wars nerd. I can't read it, I had to write what I wanted then change the font.

It seems that there is a temporary problem and some people can't download stuff. try deleting all your cookies (or eat them if you are hungry) and then try downloading again. It may or may not work. give it time and I am sure that you will be able to download stuff

now that I think about it. there isn't a way. its part of the bios. well there probably is, but you will most likely mess something up. no matter what os you use it will show up.

If you are talking about the screen that shows up before the windows boot screen I don't believe that there is a way to change it. If (mind you if) there is a way it would involve hacking systemfiles...not something you should ever do.

I suggest to go for it. even though I don't usually use windows anymore, I don't know what I'd do with windows without object desktop. You get a number of programs and each one is entirely useful. You have windowblinds, desktopx, iconpackager, icondeveloper, skinstudio, and objectbar just to name some of the major parts. What you are wanting to do is actual graphic editting. If your only program to do this is paint I suggest you get a new one. My suggestiong would be to get paint shop pro. its not to difficult to learn, its powerful enough to use for a long time, and its not to expensive. Once you get a good graphics editor (there are many out there) you need to learn how to use it. Recoloring parts of skins might be an easy way to learn. Once you get the hang of it you can start to do more complex
