a lot of the things here will work with win2k. Windowblinds can skin a lot of it. objectbar should work with it. desktopx should work with it. I am pretty sure that iconpackager will work with it, but I don't know if win2k supports alphablended icons...if not it will still work you will just have to find older icons. wallpapers will work with it. winamp will work with it...do I need to continue

Its not new (I don't think it is), but its an option for the theme and they changed the defualt to it I guess. I don't care for it so I changed back to my normal theme.

To change the top and bottom bars of the start menu you have to use skinstudio if you are using windowblinds. I will help you if you tell me how you want to change them. I only know how to do this for windowblinds though.

yes you can have shared folders over a network with out setting up a ftp. I am not sure of the method anymore as I haven't used a home network in a while. but I think that the option is in the security and sharing tab in the folders properties.

samurize allows you to run nearly fully customizable scripts that can display info. one could call it sysmetrix on steroids. Samurize can do several things more than sysmetrix, and usually look better doing it. however it is much more difficult to learn (I have been fooling around with it for about a week now and have hardly gotten anywhere on my own...it took me a whole day just to figure out how to change stuff beyond the already made configs). I don't know a thing about mbm, so

I don't think there is one, but its pretty straight forward. Go to the toolbar icon section that you want to change and import the default. then choose to edit it. hopefully you have it set to export as png because this makes editting easier. the set of default icons is like a guide to tell you what icon goes where without having to go back and forth between the editter and skinstudio (you could print off the list). now you can start making your own icons either on top of the default ones i

I would think that desktopx is better. I don't think sysmetrix will do all you want. And samurize has a sharp learning curve (meaning it will take a while to figure out how to do certain things), but it will also do what you want to do. So for what you want to do desktopx and samurize can both do it. They both have pros and cons: desktopx is easier to set up and get going while Samurize is difficult if you don't know what you are doing, and samurize is free, but the normal version of desktop

Desktopx or samurize or sysmetrix, and several other programs. Desktopx is my favorite of them, but samurize and sysmetrix are free. However for ease of use I would choose desktopx. So if you don't want to pay for it at least try the trial version. You can find many objects for it (time, weather, etc.) in the desktopx objects library here at wincustomize. To get desktopx look here: https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/downloads.asp <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/

the first color in the palet is the background color for the progress bar. Even if you have the size wrong the background of the progress bar will be the first color in the palet. so if you don't want the background of the progress bar to be white change the first color of the palet to a color other than white
