About Code Monkey's calculations... even with 10% retention, a person who plays a lot, scores a bunch of points in a month, then stops playing for 1 year, then starts playing again in the 14th month, would still always be ahead of the person who starts on the 14th month, ceteris paribus.
Next time, if someone looks like they're going to be trouble. Offer them some juicy techs or money to go to war with other people. They're less likely to bother you if they already have wars going on. I turned a game where the Dominion of Koth would eventually conquer and culture flip everyone in the game to them to paralyzing them with about 3-4 concurrent wars. Made even better when a UP resolution came up taxing all civilizations at war at 20% of income. ^_^ [Message Edited]

I thought it was painful? I did mention it in the bug reports, but there hasn't been Stardock activity in there for awhile.
It's ok to get left behind at the beginning, if you have a faster population growth. Trade techs with them. Especially the minors first (they give better deals). Try not to trade diplomatic techs unless you think they're about to research it anyway. Try to trade in away that the techs you give them have a lower total research cost than the ones you're getting from them. Get those research resources. Zero Gravity Research, which is right after Medical Theory.

Ooh, whoops. I meant to write, I have 1.49M[b].003 That's the version that shows up on Stardock, and that's what I downloaded on Friday (played, and finished Saturday). So it would appear I do have the latest version... unless it's supposed to be 1.49M[M].003.

Tech-wise, I try to trade for it instead of researching it if I'm behind. Usually the AI likes to go for certain techs (military), and if you research enough of the other techs, you should be able to trade the techs with each of them. Supplement with a bit of cash, or try to squeeze some money out of them if possible. I also have a printout from Java Scout's site of all the research costs of tech, and when possible, I try to to give them techs with a lower total research cost than the techs I
Ah, interesting. Not clicking on the text worked. So I have 1.49m003. First thing I noticed was that the GCloader draws in two separate locations when I try to drag it (pieces of each half is drawn at each location). Really weird, and annoying, but not really too big of a deal. Also, I started the game on Painful (all Intelligent, except for Genius Altarians), and ended the game on Suicidal. So besides the obvious mistake there, what difficulty is Suicidal supposed to be at?

Well, the reason you would continue to get Drengin.net with option A is that you won't get the new games that come out after 1.5 years. In other words, with Option A getting Drengin.net = buying all the games currently out in Drengin.net at once, as well as the games that come out within 1.5 years, but not the games that come out after 1.5 years. The problem with option B is that, if I forget, or lose my Altarian Prophecy, I won't be able to get it again in the future without renewing

If the answer is B, that means that I won't be able to get Altarian Prophecy if I lose the installation files then. Was looking around at recent Japanese games that were released, and stumbled upon this. It's an old series (since 10 years ago), and this is the 5th game I guess.
