Speacialise your planets, 1 money, 1 research and 1 manufacturing etc, this maximises the particular output u want. A money world for example 1 colony, 1 starport, 2 factorys, 1 morale, 1 farm and 3 markets (class 9). Just vary based on planet class, bonus tiles etc.

Yea the AI does whatever it takes to annoy u. I wish a few of the races would just colonise higher quality planets, them low quality planets can drag u down. This could be a future change, like the Yor might colonise anything as they r machines, the Terrans minimuim class 9+ and the Torians as they breed like rabbits class 12+ to give them plenty of room.

I also don't like that I can't help a starbase in its defense with other ships. U can defend a starbase, place a fleet/ship on the same tile and it is attacked before the starbase. So its got to be destroyed before the starbase. Very hard, especially if u have a military starbase. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/L

First, don't be concerned with the quarterly reports about your position in the galaxy. They can be quite misleading. Spot on reaver, this game actively lies to u. I have played several games where on the most powerful nations, i am bottom of the pile the entire game, right up till i win <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/La

My turns take 1 or 2 minutes on average. Only a little longer when designing a new ship or rethinking my militarly or social production. Rather then tweaking, its important to have a flexible plan, change if the AI starts to counter your plan. This works great for me, played 10 games from normal to highest lvl (suicidal or whatever it is).

Military starbases r great for the ultimate defense, any ships entering there sphere of influence r just space debris. Build military starbases, appear weak military wise, they declare war, turn there ships/fleets into space debris, gain xp, gain hps. When u have some high hps ships, upgrade to your latest, flashist weapons and can they stop your ships fleets, no. I always station a fleet with a militay starbase, enemy ships have to destroy that fle

Been playing the dreadlord campaign since i got GC2 using v1.0x.2. Currently on the 9th scenario, near the end, as i believe there are only 10. Did not bother with metaverse upto now. But have now created a character. Noticed that the game saves each scenario on last turn for u. Anyway i can load those up and save them to the metaverse? Represent 3 weeks of solid play! If not, is it possible at all to record your dreadlord campaign scenarios to

My favourite tile bonus is the 700% manufacturing bonus, the planet with this on always becomes my no. 1 planet and makes the game a breeze usually. Every planet with this bonus as always had at least 2 other bonus tiles as well but i have never had anything like the planet above. I never find money to be a real problem in the game, so funding these mega planets as never been a problem for me. Well very enjoyable, i believe they r perhaps way too po

The Yor and Drengin saw u as a soft target, probably because after the war with the korx your military rating was low. Rather then earn the respect of your neighbours, they were greedly rubbing there hands together, looking forward to a soft kill. Keep that military rating high and avoid being picked on. Look around for other posts on how to get a good economic start, plenty around, written a couple myself. to give u a few ideas. Good Luc

I sometimes get beaten to Eyes of the Universe, so i think the sensors on trade ships has a lot of merit. I might try that in a future game. I like action reports, u always learn something new no matter how good a player u r, hope u finish writing it up to the end, stormcaller. From reading your report I suspect the best and easy way to win would be a influence victory, without fighting a war. Keep your military to a high level so the oth

Talking asthetics was very dissappointed in the dreadlords campaign, that when i had Earth as one of my planets, it did not look like earth! It was a random, undeveloped land mass! Especially when on the tips when loading a save game it shows a proper Earth. Correct map and everything. Scenario 9 (2nd to last) is when u get control of Earth by the way.

I trade all the techs and money they can give me THEN conquer there planets, works every time, on any difficulty

I am so for disappointed in the AI, i have just played through the campaign on 1.02.x. On the 9th scenario, starting on normal level and raising the levels to currently Masochistic level. I have noticed little to no improvement in AI when it comes to combat. I have won all scenario's 1st attempt, the drengin and Yor are very disappointing, never really attacking me, just defending there own planets with very slow speed 2 fleets which i can destroy w

A few tips 1) Put production (under taxes) to 100%, if your playing like i do u never have to lower it below this. 2) Aim for tax rate of 69%, highest possible the population will bare, only lower if a colony goes morale red 44% or below. 3) During colony rush, have all colonies at 100% morale for spectacular population growth, don't worry about a big minus tax income so long as u have 1000+ in your treasury.

I believe over the last 50 yrs the USA as culturally influenced, flipped individual nations into following its way of thinking, often without the majority of the population even realising. All the western nations have been flipped to some extent to follow the american way. Who do we view as the leader of the west? The Usa. We don't like to accept this fact, but its still true. Would Britain or Canada ever be on the exact opposite side of an argumen

No such thing as an influence victory? R u serious, try telling the USA goverment that, they have very, very successfully exported there culture, influence throughout planet Earth. I should know, i live in the 51st state of the USA, a little place called England, where ever u go we follow 2 steps behind! I'd call that an influence victory and as an english man i don't mind because i think the american culture is the best on offer at the moment. <img
