only between tree hugging sessions and only after we smoke the pipe Your confused, this is common Torian behaviour, the hippie, free loving race of the galaxy. The Altarians i think of as the Vorlons of the galaxy out of Babylon 5, absolute Lawful Good, to the extent they will crusade against any that dare disagree with them. <b

What about the 52 most wanted Drengins?
This game has crashed on me loads, now where have my medals gone since i updated to 1.1? Ah! There they r! Now fingers crossed i have sorted all the crashes/bugs/glitchs/annoyances out (only took 2-3 hrs, gnash of teeth).
I just had this fundamentalist event playing the Yor on suicide level. I only had 4 planets, going for my first tech victory. A gigantic map but stars, planets rare. So all AI races had 2 - 3 planets. Anyway there i am halfway through researching, Beyond Mortality, i get fundamentalists take over part of your government. PART, u say, PART, they fragging took 3 out of my 4 worlds over!?!?! Had the cheek to say take them back! How? I have only 1 world, surrounded by 8
Population = taxes, money and garrision
Military Might: (A+D+H/2)*sqrt(spd) Defensive Military Might (used only by computer players): (A+D+H/2)*max(2, sqrt(spd)) I don't understand it, but looks great, reminds me of my algebra days when i used to fall a sleep! But seriously, get Frogboy and stardock to look at it. If it helps make the AI harder to beat all the better. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/
I not only start wars.......i finish them........usually by roasting and eating the losers........
I think Frogboy and the people at stardock deserve a vacation, don't u? They did say with the release of 1.1 that 1.2 was going to be alot slower process. They spent an intensive month on 1.1 and answering our questions to show they were committed to making the game better. Hopefully they will be working on the expansion soon as well (i believe it is due out in 9 months - 1 year, but don't quote me). Thanks Frogboy and all the other developers. Great game. <
Ally with alien pond scum......i don't think so!
But the United Planets resolution was defeated and the problem of robotic earthworms remained.......
It gives u more hull space, it does not make things smaller in game terms.
I do believe it was the French that figured out too late in WWII that a wall to keep invaders out doesn't always work My Maginot line has no big holes called Holland or Belguim in it <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=
I'd guess you also need to colony rush as much as possible to make the most of it (since you won't get the bonus unless you get to the planet first)? Yes, try to set planets to common in 1.1 i presume. Before 1.1, even conquered planets got the PQ increase. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 cl
I have not tried it on 1.1 but did before, magical (wopping 8 pts) is great once your in mid to end game. Those extra tiles allow you to really power ahead and win/end games more quickly. Its a very, very powerful benefit that u can enjoy later on. U r disdvantaged at the game start and need to get the knack of surviving early on to enjoy the great benefits later. U can get some wonderful planets, with huge research, money output, high population (got space to build the morale, to support it
It may surprise you to know that there are actually times where the AI will sneak a fleet off to a planet that you think is safe. Or it may take a combat fleet along and wipe out your defenses so the only thing left is to hope the planet can hold A military starbase, with a fleet on guard (1 ship in fleet has high sensors if needed) will ensure
Just going to hijack this thread to say the Altarians r 'EVIL'. Every game i play they give me the most trouble, pain. I now think of them as 'crusaders'. There way is the right way. Watch out any other race if u disagree with them. Remind me of the Vorlons in Babylon 5.
Hah.. I've had conquered the planet with my lonesome guy. sweet I guess u can change your handle to dreadlord now
Never seen a pirate in any games i have played. Except for me of course, i love blowing those frieghters to bits
Sure does
Ever tried running an empire on -500cr a turn? Yea i have, its murder, give it a miss, took me ages to pull my empire through it. Finally had to drop output down from 100% when the unhappy face appeared and morale dropped on all my planets
The starbase/constructor mechanics need looking at. One of the great things about GC 2 is the game zips along, in a couple of hours u can play 50+ turns, great for a great strategy game. I would suggest building 1 constructor to build the starbase initially. Then have it act like a planet with tiles, but modules instead. U could have a new tab next to colonies labeled starbases. See at a glance your starbases. New modules would take money and time to build. This would keep game
Most useless buildings r definately any of the defensive ones. Why would anyone want to just wait to be attacked? Also a military starbase and a fleet in its sphere r much better defending a planet, nearly invincible (against the AI anyway) in my opinion. Planetary defense, oribital flleet manager and omega defense system = totally useless, waste of space, time and effort. My favourites r anything that increases research (=power). <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2
Yep same here, when i conquer an AI planet on suicidal level, i always find 3-6 embassies. The AI really loves them. I personally only build them on inflence planet tiles. I think the AI is overcompansating and trying to prevent there planets from flipping. Its a real weakness vs myself or any other player who virtually always goes for a military conquest victory. I simply upgrade every embassy to a building i really want, much cheaper then building, a building, from scratch. So the AI wou
Spy ships r excellent value for production/money. Early in the game u can have a couple of those going around keeping an eye on what other races r doing. U can easily have spd 4, sensors 12+ virtually at game start and they rapidly get better. I use them to spot anomolies for my survey ship early on, find resources quickly, planets etc... Later u can upgrade to warships if needed. I always put one packed with sensors on guard at my planets, thus never get caught out with a surprise attack la
Girlfriend? Oh yea i have got one of them somewhere. Thanks for reminding me, after buy her a pressie for ignoring her for the past month
