They didn't have a rule against it. That really is the point. They decided to MAKE a rule against it after the fact. A judge decided to back them on this. THAT is the real point. So basically the governing body of the complex thought the overly tall flagpole did not "jive" with the complex aesthetic so

Handlebars 1 1/2 feet apart? One speed bikes? No need for bike paths. Everywhere you could pedal was a bike path. Baseball caps that were worn the correct way? Baseball games broadcast during the day, on a weekday? IG
Before I start my musings, let me tell you that yes, todays society has many great technological advances over the past and this has made life better. But I think along the way we lost something. For those over 18: Today’s culture is too immediate. Remember box tops? You would spend a month or two eating cereal, scraping together enough money and

Hence the problem. As I read both posts I am struck, as I generally am in these types of discussions that appear on this site, with the monochrome way people have of looking at what is liberal and what is conservative. Such things as “All liberals will do this. All conservatives will do this.” This is just not correct. As KarmaGirl pointed out a person can hold views that are both liberal and conservative. A person can be both pro-choice and still like

Well, here is my two cents: Do you think that he is being out of line? Yes. By not respecting your wishes or your privacy he is not being a very good friend and very much out of line. If my friend tells me that he/she is writing about personal things that they do not wish to share, I would inquires about the problem, offer help then let it drop. Am I simply being precious expecting some form of privacy on the very public web?
While I do agree with the opposition to a uniform, and aggree that an individuals originality should not be hindered, some rules of decorum should be followed. What are your thoughts on a dress code? I am well behind originality, but some of the fashions these days are not appropriate for a learning environment. I do not want to see Mr. Bobs buttcrack when I am trying to read Wells. IG
Generally, Republicans believe in fidelity and marriage: Ronald Reagan - divorced the mother of two of his children to marry Nancy Reagan who bore him a daughter 7 months after the marriage. Bob Dole - divorced the mother of his child, who had nursed him through the long recovery from his war wounds. Newt Gingrich - divorced his wife who was dying of cancer. Dick Armey - House Majority Leader - divorced. Senator Phil Gramm of T

Now, I am not the biggest fan of President Bush, but I have to vent about what happened last night. When I grew up we had 4 channels, so when there was a presidential address or important event happening, if you were a kid, you were stuck w/ PBS (and not at the time the kids shows were on). So, I grew up with a certain expectation. The president speaks, the n

History. History is the only judge of a terrorist and a patriot, because in the present they can be both. A person is judged a freedom fighter/terrorist based on the society they are working against. To us John Adams is a patriot, working to bring forth a new nation. To the english he was a traitor to the crown. A treasonous man of the highest order. IG p.s. Rational: Since: "The fact that some countries achieve their ends through the means of people who can't be directly tied to them does not absolve that country of responsibility." With regard to the retired soldiers attack on Pakistan (the original scenario of the post) would the US would then be held partially culpable, if Pakistan asks the US to hand over those responsible, (as we did in Afghanistan), should we do so?

I have a response. Now, if you are looking for a “Bring it on” answer that involves massive machinery and guns. This will not appease you. As I see it the problem, after the attack is the terrorist organization. Now, to pull off this attack the organization would need money. The only people who could supply the money are rich arabs and/or Muslims. The solution then is to eliminate the rich Arabs. No rich, no money, no funding, no attacks.
I have an answer, but I have a question first: I am under the imression that these terrorist groups are being funded by wealthy persons, in order to procure weapons and fusion material. Is it safe to presume that some of the funds are coming from persons who control the oil in Saudi Arabia? IG
I understand the apprehension, but remember, granted it was for the mob, business people sold the idea of Las Vegas. A city for gambling in the middle of a desert. The foundations of our two cultures are too antithetical for reconciliation. Now, the second is different. Tolerance. Yes it can happen.
