Wahkonta Anathema: i was sure that I had already read the title somewhere but I couldn't find it. There's a point where I think Soros is right, US can't be the current world leader without being responsible and so the need to be constructive and try to unify the world around the principle it claim to defend. The big issue here is that too much ideology and not enough pragmatism is coming from the ruling of the current administration. However, I wanted to be a little provocative about t

Right, The more scaring thing is general public apathy, I feel that people aren't interested in political in general because they reckon to be useless to influence any decision. This is a dangerous because the more moderate don't vote the more influent become the extremist. Too much story like this can open some doors that should have been let closed. It's not the case in UK, but in france the rise of the extremist (left or right) show that politician by not taking their responsibility

They seemed to have done their conclusion before really assessing the intelligence. I think it's really unresponsible. A big difference between US intelligence and most other countries intelligence is that if Saddam had developped WMD, it wasn't an imminent threat requiring to be removed. In my point of view, this is not a failure intelligence but a political error. All the talk from Powell, Blair, and whoever is just some kind of spin. I would believe that Tony is probably more sincer

The use of historical facts in the way you describe look more like unclever propaganda to me. It shows also a negative way of arguing, saying you did this and that wrong so shut up you cannot raise those issue. Like you, I find the manner untrue, too easy and really partisant. Nice post

Right Paul, the lack of trust surrounding every politician's speech is shared everywhere and lead to increasing cynism. However, politician should been accountable for their act and spin and not necessarly by the any other year poll.

You are going to suffer a lot if you can't stand hypocrisy! I'm affraid that the world is full of people you won't stand for being hypocrite, stupid, mean, nice, handsome,... and there's nothing you can do about it. You can only change yourself or your environment. Never forget you are the only people that can make you happy. A pessimist is an idiot, an optimistic is a happy idiot...

It's alrigth. I didn't comment it. You have the right to do it for me. I post it because Blair is famous in england for his high level of spinning. I have to reckon that he is probably one of the best politician in europe for that, may be the best... However, you always have to understand today with the light of yesterday. It's becomind harder with such spin master.
