Crazylady, I only posted the comment to notify the author of potential aid. It was never an attempt to bring reproach upon military families at all. I know how hard it is to have a family and be military ( I was in Egypt in '84, when my first wife decided to move the kids swing set to her boyfriends house ) As I have always stated, "I have no problem with anyone receiving assistance ", it is, indirectly ,how I make a living. I j

I have been thinking about "getting older" a lot more than usual recently ( it's a tiring process, that usually requires a nap ). I don't know if it is a result of introspection, the fact that my teen son is now driving, or that my oldest son is an expectant father, but the thoughts seem to constantly fog my mind. I'm not THAT old, but the idea that I'm a grandfather in waiting tends to give the grey in my beard more legitimacy. ( I can't shave

You left out the conquest of Canada . Immigrants will be required to have a large neon "I" tattooed on their forehead. Inability to operate electronic devices will be grounds for bannishment to the new Commonwealth of Iran. ( This could get real strange )

Don't get too upset, it's a dark secret that helps drive the economy. ( almost joking ) For laughs read my article on Social workers perpetuate poverty, I have no statistics to back up the title, but I have years of practical experience. My neighbor retired from a law practice where he specialized in Disability Benefits, He called it "Happy Law ", where no one loses ???? I have read that some military dependent families at Ft

This argument could go on forever, here's the undeniable truth; Saddam is gone, he no longer threatens anyone. His weapons are missing, not gone, so where are they? Our central concern should be a peaceful democratic Iraq, a goal not shared by the Shi'ite majority. Does anyone remember Ayetola Kohmannei ( however it's spelled ), he was the shi'ite cleric that overthrew the Shah of Iran. You know he got his ideas in Iraq ?

Do the bloggers of Joe User understand how Islam began? Islam, "The Straight Path", is the revelation of God's final decree to mankind, Mohammed the prophet "channeled" the word of God and dictated the Koran. Muslims truly believe that the Koran is the literal words of God. Mohammed states that Moses was the first prophet, revealing to the Jews God's laws. The Jews then twisted and perverted those laws to their own utility. The

I will vote for Bush because: 1. Lower taxes 2. Safer Country 3. World leadership 4. Economic growth 5. Excellent Administration 6. Christian ethics 7. Conservative Judicial appointments Hate is such a blinding emotion, I feel pity for those among us that have been manipulated into such a fury of disdain for our President. OUR President has committed no offense worthy of such hatred, yet, the politics of di

Brad, I will argue the intelligence factor, the people I see "using the system" are remarkably intelligent in learning every loophole available to them. Sherye, Around here ( eastern NC ) the CHURCHES are where the "qualifing education "is , so of course they go to church, and once they start getting "paid" they tithe like hell...... I think Rush Limbaugh would disagree with the democrat persecution, and Lay's day is coming. Several comments ago someone ( Bakerstreet #20 ) implied that the ongoing investigation will probably have everyone else roll over on Lay. They're building a case and I'm sure Lay is VERY nervous since Martha's conviction. One thing that confuses me when people talk of all the lost money surrounding ENRON, those employee 401k's were just

I haven't seen the movie, yet. It seems that every Baptist Church for miles around are filling the theaters on a nightly basis ( fantastic marketing scheme if you ask me ) I heard an interview last night on MSNBC, I do not recall the writer for Vanity Fair being interviewed but he was credited with promoting the Anti-semantic view. This guy admitted personally hating, ( yes Hating ) Mel Gibson. He had authored a book on t

Jeb, I granted their job noble. I know they do good work, save lives, et al... My problem is with their management and the perpetuation of the Department... I have always been led to believe that for every horror case that you describe, there is 10 cases that are unfounded, and border on harrassment by the agency. ( my unfounded belief, based on unrecalled info ) Coming full circle in this post, could it be that the s

Can't they at least get these people a shower? I mean, shees, dirty, skinny, scraggly lookin' folks are just not my idea of entertainment. Then again, neither are fat naked people...... I enjoyed a great re-run of "Patton" on Turner Classics last night, flipping between O'rielly, Scarboro, and Hannity. Makes me sound like a Neo-con, I'll just watch MTV for a fair and balanced screening. hehehe

Dark-star, I do not disagree, but I think not safety, but more than likely premiums ( insurance that is ) are what GM is after. As well as knowing exactly where their collateral is, what condition it is in ( engine monitors etc ), and how to secure that collateral in the event of non-payment. I'm all for it,( being used by others ) just not the passive intrusion it presents. As for me, I'll just motor along in my pre-On-S
