Firefox is a resource hog, slow to load Not quite sure how you get that, right now with 5 tabs open FF is using less than 11k of memory, IE with one window open tops the list of all my processes at over 26k of memory use. True it is a little slower to load due to the fact that it is not ti

Download the network installer here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=049C9DBE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en It'll let you install right over top of the first install.

What kind of backup image are you trying to restore from? When you say that Windows won't initialize, how far did you get? Did you get past the BIOS screen? Sometimes restoring from a backup image you lose your boot sector. Try loading the Windows install CD, select the Recovery Console, and type "fixmbr" (w/o the " " ) if that doesn't work you can type in "mkmbr" And maybe don't run OB once you're back up and running. I've had so

If you're going to go the reinstall route, just do a repair reinstall so you don't lose all your data and apps. If it is a Win update problem, it still may not fix your problems. I'd either wait for your CD, or download the network of SP2. I had a BITS problem recently and reinstalling SP2 and getting all the latest updates fixed things.

VIS-t-A? Reminds me too much of VISA. Which means MONEY!! And MORE money!! Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe Bill and the boys went our for coffee this morning, you know, to toss around ideas for names for the latest and greatest Windows OS, and Bill pulled out his Visa to pay, and.....

There is still a vulnerability for users of the Greasemonkey extension (let's you modify the appearance of websites from the browser) Users are advised to uninstall Greasemonkey, or downgrade to vers. 3.5 or earlier. http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1838702,00.asp?kc=EWRSS03119TX1K0000594

It's all turning out to be more of a PR/communication issue than anything else. The 1.05 release broke some extensions. Additionally, the English version was release before any other language versions. When the extension issue was discovered, the Mozilla Foundation (MoFo) asked the European developers to wait until the 1.06 release, expected later this week, rather than releasing other language versions of 1.05. (The developers were free to

Hmmm, well I guess Bill's got to blow that $90 Billion of his somewhere. Might as well throw it after a losing cause. MS entered the gaming console market with the XBox, and have had their asses handed to them on a plate by Sony Playstation. Now they have a possibility to gain some ground with the XBox 360, they seemed to actually take the styling a litle more seriously this time, and it looks to have some pretty good features, but it's long odd

* Prior to installing Firefox 1.0.5, please ensure that the directory you've chosen to install into is clean and doesn't contain any previous Firefox installations. Thanks, Bichur. It was late last night and I didn't read down that far. If I have any trouble I'll uninstall and reinstall. Too

I still haven't gotten an answer to a FF question. In the pre-1.0 releases it was strongly stressed to uninstall previous builds. Now you can just install over top of the previous install. Why is the uninstall no longer necessary? (not that I'm complaining)

Did you, like me, spend way too much time playing Space Invaders when you were younger? Visit http://www2.b3ta.com/notepadinvaders/ for an odd twist on an old favorite. You know, in case you were getting tired of solitaire.
