Thanks for the tip, Coffeegrinder. That speeds things up noticably. You can also speed up your browsing (regardless of connection) using Cablenut, and some other registry tweaks at: http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1722550,00.asp

I would second what everyone else has said: Firefox won't take long to become your favorite browser. I have also had one or two occasions where I couldn't "select all" and it has been posted (numerous times,) that sometimes images in FF will "jump" or "bounce" when a new WB is applied, but closing and relaunching FF fixes that problem. I'm not too surprised to hear that Hotmail doesn't play nice with FF,

I'm sorry, but the "bridge painting" analogy is flawed. The ability, in SkinStudio to port msstyles to WB format would be more like someone using their digital camera to take a picture of the bridge painting, then using that picture as their wallpaper on their own home PC. No one is hurt, no one's IP rights are violated. If, however, that person then distributed that digital picture without the original artist's permission, that would be a violatio

Coffee, coffee, coffee. Dark roast and strong, about 7 cups a day. Have them drop in a nice shot or two of espresso, just for a kick, when I get it from the coffee shop.

IE has some features that may be better than Firefox ( it loads faster due to parts of it always running as part of the Windows OS), it is a little more forgiving of bad code (MS Frontpage sites mostly). But Firefox has, IMO, more features for the end user. Just as we have WB skins and Icon packages done by artists here at WC, you have indivduals writing some great extensions that allow you to personalize y

Not really an extension, but the coolest use of FF I've found is Portable Firefox. It runs off your USB thumb drive. Just plug it into a PC, and away you go. Unplug it and everything you've browsed goes with you. It has a couple minor bugs (I'm still using the build off vers. 0.9.3) but it's great for getting at my work email by web on PCs we've had to lock down internet access on. http://johnhaller.com/jh/mozilla/portable_firefox/ Favorit

Why FF seems to load slower than IE. (quoted from http://www.techsupportalert.com/firefox.htm "2. FireFox loads slower than Internet Explorer FireFox may load web pages much faster than IE but the program itself takes longer to load. Much longer, maybe twice as long. That's because major component of Internet Explorer are always running on your PC, they are pre-loaded. That means IE has less w

I think frugus is right, this thread doesn't belong on a skinning site. We know that the folks at this site are a diverse bunch with with multiple, divergent viewpoints on everything from politics, to religion, to, in this case, recreational drug use. What is the point of debating opinions of what is still an illegal drug in most of the world? No one is going to change their opinion, and IMO, it's starting to make us all look a little silly. <img sr

Found the cause of the problem in my FF settings. I had it set to load images from the originating site only. When I deselected that and refreshed the page, I got the missing images. I've never had this problem with other sites. What is it about the coding of the new site causes the conflict? And now that I can see the new emoticons.....well....what's up with the green smilies?
