rpguere, are you in the Air Force, or Civil Service? I can't think of many other reasons why someone would stay in Fairborn.

It could be a problem with the drivers for your graphics card. I had a similar problem, and that was the culprit. Check the manufacturer's site for updated drivers to whatever video card you're using. Thanks to danilloOc, he's the one who helped me figure it out. [Message Edited]

....and just what is Jennifer Garner doing with that Affleck guy? If she keeps it up I'm going to have seriously consider breaking things off with her. I know she'd be heart-broken and all, but a guy can only take so much.

I agree that sections of the Patriot Act appear to contradict the Constitution. One thing to bear in mind, however, is that the Supreme Court has the power to strike down all or any part of the Patriot Act , if it reviews it , and finds it un-Constitutional. It is the defined purpose of the Judical Branch of the government to interpret the Constition. The last I checked the Patriot Act was not part of the Constitution, and therefore is subject t

Have to say I agree. I liked Arnie in most of his movies, and he may even be a decent Governor, but we have these safeguards in place for good reason. You brought up many of them. Even if we were to decide that we wanted to do away with the constitiutional provisions for a native-born president, to do so for the sake of one man, no matter how popular would speak very ill of us as Americans. When the constitution was amended to limit a

I've had the privilege to work for employers who had similar principles. They were pleasent to work for, they are successful/ and, I suspect, they sleep a little better at night. I've been using Stardock 's Object Desktop for a year now (just renewed BTW) and I have found Stardock to have more principle and integrity than any other online organization that I've dealt with. And that includes my bank and credit card companies! Right n

Nice tats! I see so many people that get a tattoo just to have one, with little or no thought put into it. I got two homemade tattoos in High School. They were ugly and I got them covered as soon as I was old enough to get legally inked. After a wait of fifteen years I got my most recent. It's an eagle done all in black and gray. It's got a lot of detail, and took a total of 10 hours over three sittings, but I love it.

http://www.drycreekphoto.com/Learn/monitor_calibration.htm I use the Adobe Gamma settings at home. At work we have special Barco monitors (about $10,000 US) for color correcting scans for publication. They have their own in-monitor video cards and use a photocell that attaches to the screen with a suction cup to calibrate. That would be overkill for the average home user, but still, there's a little more to it than just cranking your brightness or contrast settings all the way up or down.

Lots of WCers use FF ,judging by message board posts. The idea of adding a FF theme section was tossed around recently in a suggestion thread. I don't remember the title of the thread, or what the final outcome was, but dig around a little and you might find it.

http://cookieculler.mozdev.org/ Link to CookieCuller, an extension that replaces the default cookie handler. I don't personally use it, but I think a lot of others do. I keep my cookie handler set to accept cookies from the originating site only, and to clear on exiting FF. I haven't had any trouble with these settings. From the article: "This is of course not to say MSIE is more secure it does have a number of problems, mostly related to its security architecture and various features absent in other browsers." Doesn't that kind of outweigh most other issues? It's no secret that IE is more flexible in displaying non-standards-compliant HTML. Mozilla/Firefox/Opera/etc... purists insist that this is a weakness in IE, and that alternate browsers are more standards compliant. IE fans insist th

Spybot and Adaware used as a combination will catch most spyware out there, though Spybot doesn't seem to get updated very often anymore. You can also run SpywareGuard and Spyblaster. They run in the background and prevent spy/adware from installing on your system in the first place. http://majorgeeks.com/downloads31.html If you haven't tried Firefox yet, give it a try. I've been using it for close to a year now. I run Adaware & Spybot weekly and rarely come up with anything anymore
