I read the FAQ section on the Slimbrowser page and it said that it basicly uses your existing IE engine, whidh makes me believe that you are still left with the same IE security problems. I realize that Moz/FF and Opera are not totally immune either, and as their popularity grows they may well become bigger targets for Trojans and other malaware, but the Mozilla community seems to respond much quicker than MS to threats. There is documentation that the open source community tends to produce mo

I forgot to mention the help I got from BoXXi and Shameless with a DX problem my first week using OD. Only later did I find out how influential they are around here. So thanks again BOXXi and Shameless Designs! I could have very easily given up on this place had it not been for the the helpful advice. Another memorable time was when I nearly killed my system with a bad Litestep install. Thanks to Jafo there. The advice I got here was a lot more helpful than anything I got at Litestep.ne

JCS, if you DL OPera you get the trial version, which has the ad banners. If you buy it [$39US] the ads go away. Opera is actually a very nice, feature rich browser and I was very happy with vers 7.2, until I inadvertantly removed it from my HDD. I currently am quite satisfied with Firefox, so I probably willl not pay for the new [7.5] version of Opera. I do, however, recommend it to others who like the tabbed features, as you can have Opera open up with a whole set of tabbed windows each ti

No I'm pretty sure Opera is a Netscape offshoot, although it does have a noce feature that allows it to appear as IE, or another type of browser to fool sites that are coded for those specific browsers. I had Opera 7.2 but [ long story] it got erased and I didn't feel like shelling out again.

Werewolf, have you tried Opera? I think it may have the kind of tabbed features you're looking for. Only downside is it's $39 if you want to get rid of the ads.

#46 Werewolf, If I understand your question, here is how to have a blank after closing all tabs[though I don't know why you'd want that] Tools>Options>General, in Homepage section set homepage to Blank Hope that helps. [Message Edited]

I'm just using the default theme and WB is applying the background to the toolbars. It doesn't skin the drop-down menus, although it does apply the skin background color to the menus. [click on my screen name to see my screenshot]

In regards to #35: Mozilla had updates available in less than 24 hours, MS is lucky to get it in 24 days, and these security flaws in Mozilla, Firefox, & Opera, unless I'm mistaken, do not open up the users PC to the same level of vulnerability since third party browsers are not linked to the OS as IE is. MGiff, why don't you just try out a couple alternate browsers and decide which one YOU like best, after all only you can make the final decision. I've tried Opera, Mozilla, and Firefox. My personal favorite is Firefox, with Thunderbird as Email client [nice built in spam filters] One of the extensions I addes to my Firefox is called IEVIEW which allows you to view any toublesome pages in IE. ALL Mozilla browsers also allow you to import all your IE Favorites. I'm sure with a little experim

I live 5 minutes from Kings Island and have ridden Delirium more times than I can count, though mostly I ride it for my kids' sake. It reminds me of carnival rides from when I was a kid, only 50 times bigger! My personal favorite is The Beast, consistently rated as one of the top wooden coasters in the USA. I've been riding it since it was built in '79, and I haven't tired of it yet. They [ Kings Island] also have the Son of Beast, which will jar your fillings right out and is the only wooden co

WIll Object Dock Plus have the ability to be user specific, so that different users on an XP machine can customize the dock to their liking? And I personally don't feel insulted that you're charging for it. When I purchased OD Suite it was because I thought it was worth the cost. Nothing has changed, Stardock has a new product and they have every right to charge for it. If they gave everything away for free then they wouldn't be in business for very long, and pretty soon there wouldn't be an

I think Macs used to be better, back when Windows was built on top of DOS. Now with all the convergent technology, they're more alike than ever. BTW, we have to reboot the Macs at work easily ten times more than the PCs. Every time the servers are down for maintenence, the PC's are connected back up within a minute, while every Mac, and we have about 30, has to be re-booted and manually logged back onto every server, and we have about 5 of those![I'd like to drop-kick one little G3 in particul
