I'd second what Sirian says. After an easy crippling cultural win on a large map, I jumped to maso. The jump in AI intelligence from Genius to Incredible is quite a leap. After getting in bad shape in three straight maso games (3 AIs @ incredible--2 @ genius), I think I am finally in a position to win one. After this one, I think I will then go for my first on a large map playing with the hand I am dealt to the bitter end.

Woah--go away for a few days, and the empire is jumping up like crazy! :CONGRAT: I have been slowly working up the difficulty game--my last being at maxpainful, with all but the altarians and drengins @ genius. I have to echo Zed's map thoughts. I am playing my first (other than the sg) large map, and the ship movement is a pain. I think I may be stuck in this range--mainly for time contraints. I expect to be moving up to maso within my next two solo games. And I still don't have a
Well--I build two scouts out of there before abandoning it--the scout did help find some more yellows--one of which we will get on TBC's turn. Overall--good gambit on your part Zed. :)
It is not so much that you are short of yellow stars, more like you are short of yellow stars without alien infections
Aha--now it all makes sense...Jaxom has just been acting as the GalCiv Doctor lately (vice conquistador)...cleansing the galaxy of these so-called infections. got my 2nd game up. Medium, loose, occasional, challenging (all bright), industrialist (econ +30, morale +10, socprod +10, pq +5). Had some nice luck (deciding to build my fleet after battleships and then getting a random event starting a war with the Drengin. Lots of fun to be had. Lots of flips--flipped the allied Drengins out of the game :) I can see what Sirian has said about just taking the quick victory--this game has a much nicer recognition of a won game than Civ.
Congrats, Jaxom. Well--finally got my fist game under my belt--time to move up to some more worthy opponents. Maybe I'll even get used to using some governors and not cringe when I keep hitting endturn. Civ3 habits are hard to break. :p
Sirian-- Game installed, player registered. I made another request to join, just in case it was needed. Off to my first game!!!
I have not yet "registered my player", since I did not get around to installing the game last night. I was planning on taking my first run last night, but got sidetracked on an "Epic" quest. Game will be installed and run tonight. That should do the trick. - Bam-Bam [Message Edited]
Sirian-- Application sent again.
Hello fellow RB'ers! I finally decided to get the game, and should be starting my first go at it in the next day or so, if I could avoid the "Epic" siren song. :p Sirian, I sent you an email via the "join empire" button. I think you know where I stand on RB rules. :) This should be fun--I haven't played a 4x game since MoO1. - Bam-Bam
