I really wanted to play Sins this weekend but my partner is now addicted to 'Agricola' so whilst I'm having a ball with it; the PC games are still gathering dust for the third week in a row. ;)
I've been using this for the last few months and its great. [e digicons][/e] I consider it an essential component of my desktop. It's kind of strange that no-one had thought to do something like this over the years.
You poor bastard. [e digicons][/e] BrisVegas is a little better than that at the moment. I was starting to complain about the weather here, but you've convinced me to stay quite. Keep cool mate.
[e digicons]8(|[/e] You're kidding right? Sorry if I'm misreading this, but have you tried ICO? There's usually someone there wanting to play a game. If not go over to the Sins IRC channel and see who's up for a game.
Good to see main stream exposure, pity they only mentioned it in passing. [e digicons] Whilst I'm a fan of Sins; this clip only strengthens my opinion that the Today Show is hosted by morons for morons. Sorry to offend anyone who likes this show, but this clip only gives credence to this conclusion.
World of Goo! [e digicons]:D[/e] Simple, yet very addictive. Lately I've started to feel that PC gaming is in a rut. Flashy graphics with little substance, tons of mediocre sequels and cookie cutter products is the norm these days, but then this game comes out and I see a glimmer of hope.
I'm so old I remember playing Ghostbusters on the Speccy 48K. Good times.
[e digicons]:D[/e] hehe. I had the C64 version. Loved the game which is really weird because I hate movie-tie inns.
I've been with Stardock since the os/2 galciv days. Maybe I'm a little too old, but I'd be more than happy to.
The 5th Edition rules do take a couple read throughs, and then at least a couple practical experinces to really get a hang of.
[e digicons]8(|[/e] I only ever played the 1st edition rules! Gee I now feel old.
If you are refering to the board game of Carcassone (which I do not think you are but still) we refer to it as "Pirates" and we play it every day at none at lunch. The one that we play is a short game where you try to get all 6 pirates to the end boat before anyone else does.
Actually I'm referring to the tile laying game Carcassonne - you know the one with the wood
Well, I ran away also because I'm old enough that they were only just rolling out things like MtG when my friends and I began getting too distracted with things like jobs, non-gaming lovers, actually studying, or actually running around outside to play. During my deepest "core gaming" period, we spent 10-20 hours per weekend on real RPGs (I've yet to see one on the computer that deserves the name--they're all just tactical combat with lots of decisions) and played things like spades (p
I never really got into Magic and thank goodness. I do remember a couple of friends trying to 'push' there habbit on me, but I stopped short of buying once they told me how much they had already spent on their 'habbit'. Too scarey for a meager student on a real tight budget. For me 'core' gaming never really left, but I do feel that I've just awoken from a long hibernation. Being married and having kids has now given me a new passion for it, but its games like Catan, Carcassonne
As we've now got another new born (yay!) the only feasible type of gaming is now TBS. I tried sins at a slow pace between feedings but its too difficult to juggle a baby and controls in another. So I ended up playing the new version of Colonization again. Not as good as the original, but that might be nostalgia.
A big wayyy!!!! [e digicons][/e] Congradulations to you and you're soon to be wife. [e digicons]\o/[/e]
Soooooo tired [e digicons][/e] Too much Colonization this weekend. Off to bed for me.... hmm maybe just one more turn. [e digicons]:P[/e]
** Concerning the Download: If you're having issues downloading the Beta, make sure... ** 1. Pre-Release versions are Selected 2. You press F5 to Check for New Updates 3. If you don't see it, restart Impulse 4. Still don't see it? Restart your computer. 5. Still not there?! Toggle 'Enable Fast-Start' and reload. 6. OMG...Still?!?! Uninstall TA (ONLY TA), reinstall it, and just chalk it up as a 'fun' part of the beta experience I've tried
There's no real sense of product ownership. Whilst I have the packaging there's a sense you're holding onto smoke. [e digicons]>_>[/e] For me Spore's finite number of activations and EA support phone charges ($2.95 per minute) to get an additional activations which you're at their mercy is a big problem. Knowing support wait times are long with an average of around 10 minutes makes the purchase cost too high. It really feels like we're being gouged for repeated use. In

Still fun to play, but I'm looking forward to the new version this week. i wish i could play "Colonization" (old version) but it doesn't run on Vista I'm sure there's a workaround, but I'm not tech literate enough to know how otherwise, more GCII, trying to get my MVL game done (darn you Dystopic on these settings!)
I'm currently running it using DosBox inside Vista 32 and it

Oh yeah! [e digicons][/e] I don't buy too many games and I was tossing up whether to buy Spore or this. Its now an obvious choice - bring on next week.
Simply put it's a great idea. Usually I don't buy anything site unseen, but Ironclad has proven to be the exception to this rule. Craig you can now count me as preordered type of fanboy. [e digicons][/e]

The manual is available as a pdf in the install directory. Have a look there.
