A couple of questions: Is there going to be a beta? How long before its possible to pre/order?
They are probably finishing up the patch instead of following a what will turn out to be something that happened by a misunderstanding. Patience, people, patience...
Agreed. I also think Sins and a few other things are taking up their spare time, so replying to this thread would have little priority.
I'd don't like FPS and I would have bought Bioshock but the copy protection scheme put me off. So for me you guy's are number one. :CONGRAT:
I'm not sure that the idea of it appearing on a torrent site is to prevent piracy. Maybe Stardock believes that people downloading from these types of places might give a false impression of an inferior end-product in the eyes of potential customers (i.e. misguided pirates). I hope Stardock clarifies their position soon as this thread is getting out of hand.
Does that mean the Born of Blood expansion will also be available soon?
A part from the GalCiv titles: * M.U.L.E. * Civilization II * Europa Univeralis II * X-Com * Ultima IV - VII With the exception of the Ultima RPG's I still play the others today.
Sounds great, but I prefer my Godzilla to have a zipper. ;) Nothing better than a good old schlock film. Go the zilla!!!!
Once you have a handle on C++, get Effective C++ and Effective STL. They will make you a better programmer. There are other books about how to be a better coder, but I haven't read them yet, so I can't give my endorsement yet.
I concur. Meyer's books provides good insight into C++ usage. I'd also recommend "Designing Components with the C++ STL by U. Breymann".
As I have little spare due to having a bub, and whilst the designer is fun, I use it only to adding techs as necessary. I'm embarrassed to say that my ships really are butt ugly. :D
This is fantastic. :CONGRAT: There's so many new possibilities its a little overwhelming. I'd say March also seems quite optimistic - but hey you know better than us. Again you guy's rock.
I can't figure out why you bought Object Desktop in the first place. It would be like someone complaining about being unhappy with a Playstation only to later learn that the person doesn't really like games much. If you have Windows Vista, WindowBlinds 6 is pretty huge in terms of new features (WB 5.5 made WB 5 work on Vista, WB 6 skins the new parts of Vista both of which came out in 2007). Sounds like you would have been better off just buying WindowBlinds.
<b
Well, let's say you renewed one year ago today. What did you get for your $34.95? 1. TweakVista. A new $19.95 program. 2. WindowBlinds 6. A $14.95 upgrade from WindowBlinds 5 and adds a ton of new features. 3. SoundPackager. A new $19.95 program. 4. Object Desktop Premium Suites. A $8 value. 5. IconPackager 3.2. Windows Vista support added including Live folders (the only program that exists that can do this). 6. SkinStudio 6 Pro (beta). 7. O
As you guys can probably imagine, a lot of the team had not taken vacations at all this year. They were willing to keep working this week to get the new races in and such but I thought it better for them to use their vacation days. The good news is that internally, the two new races are in, they're just not tested. Over the holidays, I'm going to start implementing the new AI, begin the serious balancing work, and make other changes so that when we get back, we c
I don't mind the price hike, but at this stage its not clear whether there's enough new components/features to warrant renewal. I really don't like subscription based software as it feels like its just new veneer with more of the same under the hood. I renewed last year based on Stardock's GalCiv2 after sales enhancements and expansion packs. This year I don't see any real benefit - yet.
This is a release candidate, so it might be prudent to wait.
oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!oh my goodness!
Oh joy! Downloading now
Being a developer myself I understand how Cari feels. So thanks again Stardock - you guys rock!
kosc you're very evil
But...we have a guy working his butt off on new textures, ship models, and a new UI They're not just being facetious, the graphics really will be improved <img id="ImageResize_Image_2" onload="ImageResizer.createOn(this);" src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" align="absmiddle" bor
... But that raises the question, how many expansion packs do people want and how radical should they be? I don't really want to wait until after 2010 for a sequel, so as many expansions that enrich the game play; as long as they're not just cosmetic updates. For example, I would be open to revamping the whole economic system in a future expansion pack to help streamline it. I'd also like to e
Hi guys, Actually you'll be seeing about 12+ games appear on TGN in the next month or two. Watch for a couple of announcements this week and next. As for any pending deals, that's not something I can discuss other than to say I'm working on many and they're going slower than I'd like. <
Thanks for that direct answer without any commercial rubbish. I seem to have exhausted the games I'd buy from the TG. Any chance of getting some newer titles soon? The catalog is starting to look a bit too old in the tooth. I have the same felling especially when you compare Stardock TotalGaming with Paradox GamersGate. <b
That's fair enough. I just found the 5 token booster to be the perfect choice. I seem to have exhausted the games I'd buy from the TG. Any chance of getting some newer titles soon? The catalog is starting to look a bit too old in the tooth.
Ooooh I've so many favourites Here's a few: * The Player of Games - Iain Bank * When HARLIE Was One: Release 2.0 - David Gerrold * Childhood's End - Arthur C Clarle * Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card * Evolution - Stephen Baxter * Memory - Lois McMaster Bujold * When Gravity Fails - George Alex Effinger * Cyteen - CJ Cherryh * The Dispossed - Ursula Le Guin<br/
