Another way of putting it is when you saw that you had 98% cultural victory, you had 98% of the 90% of the galaxy required to win. You only controlled 88% of the galaxy at the time--not enough to win. Hope that helps. [Message Edited]

I did a maso game with mods installed. After working to an allied victory, it came up anomalous. What happened? I had most of the mods in the Galciv library installed. No huge economy problems as far as I could tell. My only worry is that I had some almost PQ60 planets--is that the reason? I don't know. Help please!
If the Yor were pure evil and you were pure good or vice versa (I don't know if you had said so or not), I don't think even giving them your firstborn will bring them close. I hope you succeed next time around.
Update: I was wrong. Check how I got Team G to win on the RB succession game. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=76736&pagenumber=5
This just gets better and better. I love this game, and I love Stardock's support!!
BTW, andrewcool, welcome to the Diplomats. Please visit the empire forum (you'll have to register) at http://diplomats.galciv.org/forum/ Come and see everything the empire has to offer. P.S. This is not recruitment!! This is camraderie!! LOL
(sorry, don'tknow how to quote)
If you use the 'Q' button after highlighting what you want to quote, it will quote it (in theory). It never works for me. Instead type [ quote]Paste desired quote here[ /quote]. Lose the spaces and it should work for you.
I've broken up an alliance before by allying with one of the races and declaring war on the other
I hadn't ever thought of that. Interesting.
Whenever you build up money really fast, you have to make sure to spend it fast, too, or your games will be "anomylous" and get you zero points.
I don't think that there is any way to break an AI alliance (other than removing one of the AI from the game ;))
1) The planet keeps the capital. 2) Yup, it's an undocumented feature. 3) It makes your people have a greater advantage if they are invaded. 4) 100% morale gives a big population growth boost. Also, Improved Environmental Control gives 10% boost. Hope that helps. How long have you been playing? It's nice to hear from you, but I don't recognize your name.
That's the ticket!!
Wow, did I start that?? LOL By the way, I think that Brad deliberately made the choices "cookie-cutter" choices to keep the morality events from confusing the game. I remember him saying that sometime ago.
My thoughts on the PQ-based population limit are (PQ-5)^2*10*PQ (in Mils of course) This means PQ 5 and lower are completely uninhabitable, PQ 6 can hold 60 Mil, PQ 15 has a pop limit of 15,000 Mil. PQ 20, 45,000 Mil. PQ 25, 100,000 Mil (the current limit--I think PQ 25 sounds about right for that limit). PQ 50, 1,012,500 Mil. And your PQ 105? 10,500,000 Mil. If that seems like too much, try (PQ-5)^2*5*PQ. What do you think?
They had upward of 100 Excaliburs. That broke them in military upkeep.
Lothmorg, check out the thread for "a strange thing happened" and post that info!!
I absolutely cherish every time the Fundies show up!! They are my best secret weapon against evil maso AI's (usually shortens the game by about an hour of cleanup time).
I think you'll find the only people who thought the Crusaders were good, godly and just were the crusaders themselves and their backers,
Whose perspective do you play the game from?? ;)
Maybe you can even use the game music to sooth the tot!
Yeah! You've got to love that Drengin lullaby!! LOL
It's odd that I can be 'saintly' start a vicious and unprovoked war, and still be saintly!
The Crusades anyone?
Team G won a beautiful alliance victory in Apr 2189AD. Our morality was 79. Even the evil Drengin loved us enough to ally with us. That's how GOOD we were. LOL Everyone should feel free to discuss the various games now. It's been fun!! Oh, and to read all about it http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=9f1c7e687826e71e8f8c236f57e2aacf&threadid=76736 [Message Edited]
say good-bye to your free time
He's not remotely kidding either!!! LOL
I had a game where the Arceans had a balance of more than -2,000,000bc!! They are soooo stuupid!! (By the way, it was a maso game LOL)
Thanks for checking it out. Please let me know what you find because it's not the first time it's happened (just the first time I had the sense enough to report it). :notsure:
have I missed something?
Only sort of. Whenever you offload people, it takes from all systems, but when you put them back, it only puts them on one planet. My advice is to use a combat transport and offload until you can load the excess on to your happy planet. Eventually you can put a system into the correct balance this way (not the ideal solution, but it will work).
I seem to recall there is occasionally a problem with DSL firewalls preventing game submissions. Do you have a firewall? Do you know how to bypass it to allow communication with galciv.com? If you don't, you can call your DSL provider and ask them to explain it to you. That's my best guess.
