Uploads ? in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

Admins, is there currently a backlog of uploads? Reason I'm askin is, I uploaded a Litestep theme about 3 days ago, but no sign of it yet. If its just a backlog of uploads not a problem. If not I'll upload the theme again. I just don't want to upload it twice and compound the upload backlog (if it exists). Thanks

I have no inside knowledge of the site. But when a site is down as long as LiteStep.net has been, I start to wonder if it's really coming back at all I hope I'm wrong.

Unfortunately I can't help you (comparism wize) as I've only used LiteStep of the four products you've mentioned. All four appear to have solid reputations though. Litestep replaces Explorer as the shell. Current versions are built off the .24.6 core. There are several solid distros available at ls2k.org, shellfront.org and litestep.com. Litestep has over 200 third party modules available. Over as 1000 themes as well. It has a large userbase and quite a few related websites.<b

The new look at litestep.com is very good. The headlines there give the impression of some cooperation between ls.com and ls.net. I hope thats the case; the ls community needs coopperative efforts like that.

It looks like one objective of Frogboy's suggestion is to encorage more feedback on peoples work. One thing we are not seeing enough of is comments on uploaded skins. I agree it's best to comment on apps that you also skin for (ie: litestep, windowblinds). While recongnised authors do get some feedback, many many skins sit with no comments. Another example of this is the screenshots area. That is a section that should have tons of uploads. Many each day. But it doesn't and I'm

I can't claim inside track, but the themes.org server also had litestep.net on it. The box was compromised very badly and currently sits in the hands of the FBI. Litestep.net has a backup but its a couple of months old (pre themes org tie-in days). Litestep.net admins are talking about at least another month, probably more.
