I have to second Jafo's opinions with this theme. It's a coding masterpiece. Options like variable transparency and animation available at the click of one setting, are pretty unique within Litestep. Take into account the mutiple graphical schemes and this theme is a real keeper

If you install Litestep with Omar's Litstep Installer vr 2.0.2 (I think), that package does come with an uninstaller (unthinkable . That installer is linked to on the main page at shellfront.org. http://shellfront.org

As Jafo wrote, Litestep has suffered by not having a goto site that has stayed up with any consistancy. I personally keep my themes here because I know this site will be around a year from now. But Litestep is still active, new mods are coming out, and new themes are created (even boring bar themes The theme submissions are really spread around the skin sites plus one Litestep themes site.

Further to that discussion.... It's getting very difficult to create an original theme in terms of layout. Pretty much all the styles have been done to death. About the only things left are themes so artsy they're completely unpratical; or staying with tried and try styles and just try to be as stylish and professional looking as possible. In the end though, if a theme doesn't work well, it's not staying on anyone's desktop for long.

mmmm, wharfs Always loved em. But anyway, interesting points guys. For me functionality is my first motivation when deciding what form a theme will take. I use my themes at work and home so desktop real estate is a big concern. That just tends to lean me in the direction of bar based themes. I have done some themes based on side panels etc, but there not very pratical for me needs. Beyond that I have no artistic talent per say (therefore I port) so creating shinter like themes i

There's not much you can do with a comment like that (the comment on davad70's skin). It's not offensive enough to remove, so best to just ignore it. It's basically a null/void comment as it offers no direction or detail at all. A classic waste of time that reflects only on the author of the comment itself. Keep up the great work davad70.

I have had best results in setting up Litestep lately by using the installer available at Shellfront.org. It's under the "get Litestep" sidebar and if I recall correctly its v2 (or2.1). That installer makes the appropriate registry entries and has a very solid reputation. After that point assuming things went smoothly, I reccomend upgrading your Litestep build to a recent Litestep "indie" build. Those are also available at shellfront.org and on that site is a good tutorial on upgrading

Well, fortunatly or unfortunatly (depending on how you look at it) third party mods will always be a part of Litestep due to the fact Litestep and subsequently its' mods are always evolving (which creates compatibility conflicts with older versions). Bottom line is , just be as careful as you can

Perhaps snarph is wondering what addditional features the indie builds offer over the .24.6 builds of the installer v2 days. And how to implement them in regards to themeing. You will find the main differences occur in the popup, the shortcuts3 module, math expressions used to define x,y coordinates, and the lscp control panel.
