Psywavbang was a cool mod. I might be mistaken, but I think it no longer works with newer builds. I used to use it in all my older themes but eventually compatibility broke. Or I might be dreaming; check it out, and let us know
I've found Label to be tricky for me for quite a while now. I have a very underpowered system and when themeing I recycle continually. With more than a couple of labels loaded, I can count on a crash every couple of recycles or so; unless I unload Label.dll first. Hopefully things with Label will smooth out. As you said John...the hunt is on

Mark, are you trying to select a specific wb theme from within Litestep? You can do that using the little utility wbcommand. You can activate it with a shortcut or popup or even have it activate at startup with mzscript. If I remember correctly the syntax required the full path to wbcommand. I usually kept it in the directory with the other theme modules.

Been away on holidays, so I'm a little late on this one. Weatherdesk looks at wonderground.com (I think) for its weather data. That site has changed its settings around and weatherdesk no longer functions correctly. Module author and source code are missing in action

If 5/15 pans out (and it should), myself and many others (ones here at wincusto included) have been running indie builds from the last month or so. They are very stable, with improved features, and pretty much backwards compatibility (I'm sure there must be something broken, but to be honest I haven't come across it myself). Btw, the build I"m currently using is from shellfront.org and is the july 9 build.

Glad to hear your up n running Mark. As far as I hear (cause I'm running win2k rather than winXP)the newest builds of systray2 packaged with the most recent indie builds, seem to be working best. The systray has been a bit of an achilles heel for Litestep since the advent of Win2K. I think it's finally rounding back into shape.

Recently I had to format the hard drive of my work computer. So it was the first time I had to install Litestep from scratch in years. I used the newest version of Omar's Litestep installer (2.0 I think) and it worked like a breeze. Then I downloaded the newest version of "Indie" builds. I opened windows explorer. Then killed litestep with the !Quit command. Copied the indie build over my existing build (the one that comes with the installer). Restarted Litestep and away I wen

Motivation?? For me it's set a deadline. Tell others about it, so you can't get out of it. Leave things to the absolute last moment. Then cram to get it done and have a job only about 80% as polished as you'd like.
Coming in late on this one. Too bad cause its one of my favorite topics. OTS is a little tricky to convert to, but only in terms of the personal.rc's, etc. The basic directory structure is pretty universal (thats a dangerous term in the Litestep world, I guess). I definetly have adopted OTS as the standard I use, but with the new indie build theme switcher, you aren't restricted to OTS (which is good). Go to Shellfront.org and check out the get Litestep box. The OTS v2 installer is a good one that contains a recent build of litestep combined with a very good installer. After it's installed and you have a theme installed you like, you could add a module called icon.dll. It will place your desktop icons, back on the desktop. You can find this modules at shellfront as well.

The big difference is uaually module and image paths. There are a few to define and make sure your theme matches up in the step.rc With OTS it goes like this: Litestep's directory is identified as: $LitestepDir$ you don't have to define the path to that directory in the step.rc. Litestep does that internally. The theme directory (for any given theme)is: $ThemeDir$ The path to that is: $LiteStepDir$themes\themeABC\ You do define that path in the step.
