Both parties are to blame....As far as the press you have to look close to find the good stuff. There's plenty of good investigative reporting that shows how both sides have screwed us. You can take any issue and if you don't take sides from the start you will usually find which politicians are involved, and there are usually several from both sides that help derail something. You pretty much have to ignore what the politicians say. I don't see any difference between the parties anymore. They bo
btw, I don't think McCain is a "maverick", I think he's a spineless wimp who kisses up to whoever provides the most gain for himself with the least amount of effort. He retired his spine with his Navy ditty bag.
He knows the system is broken....But even if he wins he'll be a lame duck from day 1. Thats's not good because he'll have to try to fight 3 wars at the same time to make a "legacy" for himself.

Maybe the problem isn't a lack of non-fiction, http://www.pbs.org/wnet/expose/2006/11/science-fiction.html but actually stems from too much Science Fiction.

That story was entirely about the politics of the issue. It pointed out some of the lobbies involved and which politicians they are associated with. It flat out accuses members of both parties being at fault for stalling the issue. That is why it is not partisan. It shows that the blame can be spread all over both sides of the aisle. DOH

The reason why the healthcare system isn't getting fixed has very little to do with the public. It's all about how badly Washington is broken. There is legitimate debate about how it can best be done but what the public wants or needs or what is best in the longterm is being hindered by lobbyists groups. You have lobbies from the insurance companies, doctors, pharmaceuticals, etc. that are influencing the politicians on both sides of aisle. They showed the problems in the different countries sy

Unfortunately the program that is linked exposes the dirty dealers on both sides of the aisle. It points out which lobbies are directly connected to both Democrats and Republicans, and which politicians from both sides have been instrumental to stop legislation on the issue. That is hardly partisan. If you actually took the time to watch the show you would know that.
But the Constitution is THE LAW of the land, and neither the courts or legislature can trump it. period. If you read the constitution, you would see that Congress, and the legislatures of the 50 states have a role in changing it
That is correct but when the "will of the people" is to make a change to a state or the federal constitution which goes against another part of it, then you have a problem. Equal protection clauses are and should be strong. Amending constitutions

You truly need to read a serious amount of non-fiction. Start with the history of the world wars because that contains much of the origin of the colonialization, oil exploitation, and national security policy in regards to the middle east. Its senseless for me to go further since you know so little about US foreign policy history concerning the middle east.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/hotpolitics/view/ Watch this show carefully because it shows how both sides have dropped the ball since the 80's. This is not a partisan thing. Im an independant who hates both sides because they are both screwing the public. Your so blinded by partisan politics it isn't even funny. Its rather sad.

It is obvious that the healthcare system in America is somewhat broken. It is also obvious that American Politicians on both sides of aisle cow-tow to any number of over 17,000 federal lobbyists based in Washington, DC. Believe what you will, but if you want to know more about how our system compares to that of other capitalistic countries you should atleast get some information that originates from outside the Beltway. In any case here is a link to a PBS program that discusses how it is stru
Ok so you defined science from a College Textbook so what does that have to do with Leauki's hypothesis?
No. I did a cut and paste of the definition from a few well known dictionaries. Leuki is correct. Creationism is not science. The Wedge strategy is a political and social action plan authored by the Discovery Institute, the hub of the intelligent design movement. Science (from the Latin scientia, meaning "knowledge") is the effort to discover, understand, or to understand better, how the physical world works, with observable physical evidence as the basis of that understanding. It is done through observation of existing phenomena, and/or through experimentation that tries to simulate phenomena under controlled conditions. knowledge or a system of knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested

It is called following the will of the people!
You simply need to to read and fully understand the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution. The will of the people is not always in line with what our constitution deems to be equal. I have no problem calling marriage "between a man and a women". That is in fact what It means to me. You can't be narrowminded about taxes. Everybody hates paying taxes but if the government isn't paying the bills then the debt sends the value of the dollar down the drain. It is great to say your going to lower taxes but if you don't lower government spending all you will do is further lower the value of the dollar. Jobs going offshore and relatively high business taxes are not the largest contributing factors to the current us economic stagnation. The problems have been the investment bubbles.

Of course it is necessary. You have to think of the President in terms of being the head of the executive branch. The executive branch is in charge of the day-to-day operation of the federal government, the implementation and enforcement of laws and statutes. You need a final say so. You simply can't have a bunch of people in endless debate when a situation arises that needs immediate attention. You also need an individual that has the final say so when it comes to the hiring and firing of Dept.

The problem is not that Christians don't understand Islam, it is simply that a portion of the population that doesn't understand the differences between Islam, Islamism, and radical Islamism, happens to be Christian. It is similar to some instances of racism where somebody uses race as the distinguishing characteristic to distinguish in their mind who they should be fearful of. So what we have is a percentage of the population who would vote a certain way because they don't understand c
The country always had marriage law as between a man and a woman..that is up until
Not true. The majority of marriage law is state law and if and when marriage is/was defined to be between members of the opposite sex varies from state to state. Federal statutes of marriage law do not define marriage they are simply applied based on the marital status of one's legal residence. In 1996 DOMA was enacted at the federal lvl which defines marriage for the purpose of federal sta
