Yes, perhaps "adding nothing" was exagerating slighty for narrative effect but I just think that by making the late gate minors purely "free planets" they are making the game far less interesting than it could be. As I said earlier if the new minors had a good chance of surviving for longer than a few months or even, heaven forbid until the end of the game then it would go along way to making every game truly different and interesting every time, an opertunity stardock were foolish to ignore.

But the point is that they don't add much to the game as a "free planet" for anyone who gets there with a transport. If they were given the starting bonuses I suggested then they might spice the game up a bit and make the game more varied and thus more interesting. At the moment they add nothing to game even if the "free planet" is taken. You could still take the free snack attitude towards them as they aren't going to stand up to a determined attack and as I said above the presence of a Econ

A nuetral civ (and by that I mean any civ that is not officially good or evil, not those nuetral civs that are more/less than fifty percent but still officialy nuetral) should be entitled to use an aquired evil/good tech to build improvements with an immediate morality penalty for the civ involved. If a tech provides overall benifits to a civ then it cannot be used unless that nuetral civ is more one morality than the other. I believe that if a civ is benevolant/corrupt enough to be classed as

I wish they'd make symbols for all the minor races in the game though. Maybe they'll do that in AP beacause they'll have to make new carinoid and alexian symbols anyway since the Krorx and the Drath use the symbols for both races. [Message Edited]

Arturas Magi If most morality specific techs aren't black and white as you claim then why isn't everyone allowed to research them. Why bother preventing civilizations from researching such techs on morality grounds if they can then buy them of other civs? The only tech I can think of that is just a tech in the simple sense is hypertrade and hyper warp. As you said above why couldn't an evil civ practice a form of benevolance. Quite simple really, it's not likely that anyone's going to be

What do you mean trading for disruptors? The good civilizations of the galaxy (including me!) have no problem aquiring it from the evil civs and soon everyone has it. Perhaps they'd developed a way to make disruptors safe for their users but that isn't the point. How could such stupidity be functioning as intended. If stardock go through the effort of restricting techs based on alignment then why allow them to fall into the hands of those who are not allowed to research them through trade?

The bonuses and penalties should be balanced so that it gives players an incentive to play at a high level and on a large galaxy. These bonuses as I said earlier should be far more significant than the bonuses for time. You should still get plenty more points from playing a hard game slowly than an easy game quickly. It just gives you an added reward if you can get a hard game done quicker than the next person who's done the same game slowly. At the mement I keep hearing that you get more p

I've noticed something really stupid about galactic civ. In the game there are some techs, say advanced slavery that can only be researched by certain moral alignments. If an evil civ had advanced slavery I would be perfectly able to buy it off them even if I was pure good. And not only could I buy it I would still benifit from the advantages of the tech ie I could build the artificial slaves good and trade them with the other good civs of the galaxy. What buisness would a good civilization

Sirian I don't think that their shouldn't be score bonuses based on difficulty and size. I think that perhaps they should be larger so that the time system encourages people to play harder games and strive to get them done quickly. I think the score should be modified to prevent exploints as follows. Militery victories should be based on the total number of major civ planets siezed in the duration of game and the base PQ of those planets. This should give players an incentive not

They should make an ideal year for each victory condition to be won by. Every year after this ideal year is penalised in points and visa verse . In this manner the best players would get point as they would be able to win a victory faster than the other players. Points should not be awarded for population and all victory types should gain equal points and take equal bonuses and penalties based on time.

In my latest game the I leaugue popped up as a randomly generated race. The speed they sprung up from obscurity was frightening. I was engaged in a long standing war to gether with just about everyone against the Drengin and Yor. Nothing I could do would keep the I Leugue friends with me because I was pure good and they were nuetral. I left them alone and without warning the traitors attacked me dragging the torians and the girly minor race (forgot name) both my allies into war with me. My

The dread lords were trapped inside the telenanth crystal when they lost their war against the arnor and can be released. What happened to they others I haven't a clue. Presumably they are waiting beyond the material universe or in another galaxy for a new race to join their ranks by winning a tech victory.

I think they should have tactical combat on the ground with planetery invasions taking months and the possibility of an attacking force loosing control of space to the defending forces and taking serious penalties as a result and the possibility of reinforcements and such.
