Random thoughts. The Jews who watched Jesus die at the crucifixion, cried crucify him. Pilate complied with their wishes. Early Christians were opposed and persecuted by the Jews. That is what the Bible says. The Bible also says that Paul would give up his own salvation is he could so the Jews would be saved. There were many Jewish Christians all over the Roman world. Christians are told to love their enemies and pray for those

The problem isn't the amount of money given to the poor, but the way it is given out. Instead of providing housing for the mentally ill, they are put in prison. Instead of providing drug treatment, drug abusers are put in prison. Instead of providing job training, people are given social security. For most of these programs, one is punished if he gets a job. If you look at the behavior of losers that is what they appear to be. But in some cases g
I'm afraid you are right.
Beautiful writing. Serenity is a rare things in a busy world.
If you went to a psychiatrist, he or she would give you medication. You have a mild case of obsessive compulsive disorder. If it bothers you then you can get rid of it, otherwise, you can figure out strategies to deal with it.
I hope you have good news. I can imagine how afraid you must be.
Some people won't like the real you. Some people will. Pray that the Lord will send you a counselor who will help you deal with your fears. I have found counseling the only way to figure out who I am and to be the person God created me to be. Build your faith on what God has done and who God is. Don't build it on yourself and on others. Then it will stand even when your life crumbles. You are starting on the journey of faith. Just take one step
Homemaking is a real job--but it is only open to those who are married to a man or woman rich enough to support them. It has always had a stigma and still does. Unless you've actually done it yourself, you don't know how demanding and difficult it can be. It is often a thankless job also. You are fortunate that you had the choice and that you are doing something you love.
He did and you saw it. This is a beautiful picture.
He takes the bicameral brain to extremes. The problem with both evolution and creation is that they come from different sources. Creation comes from the inspired revelation of God. Evolution from the observations of people. The Bible was written to people with a completely different world view. The Bible was refuting the idea that there were many gods. The Bible doesn't use the words for sun, moon and stars, because all of those names are also names for gods, instead it uses the word for l
As far as the good ones--they might be evil also, they just appear to be good. Just like a braggart is concealing and insecure person, a hypocrite is hiding and evil person.
Trinitie, You are such a wonderful writer. Your description of the people in the room was beautiful. I feel the same way about meetings. I wish that church was the same way. Sherye
I am surprised that a poll would generate so much discussion. I'm also surprised at the insults that have been written here. My opinion was that this site was superior to most--in that except for one person, we discussed our points of view rather than insulted other bloggers. Many of you may know that I am religious. Proving the existance of God is impossible because everyone has to agree on what constitutes proof. Most of us live according to what works best for us. Reason, sci
We don't go to church just to learn, but we go to be equipped to serve. Can you do any service at church? Can you invite students from your school to your youth group? Would they be welcome? Would they learn about Christ? If you can take the focus away from your own needs, then maybe you can stay at your present church. If you don't think that your church would welcome school friends, then there is something wrong with it.
I heard this argument while I was in England and thought it was hogwash then and still do. Parliament is dominated by the English and so even though the Welsh and Scottish can vote in Parliament, they still don't rule over England.
I did see the movie and I really liked it. It was more intense than I realized it would be, but it lived up to its name. The premise reminded me a little of "The Mysterious Stranger" by Mark Twain.
Evil is something that is difficult to understand. I think behind much of the worst evil is fear. In order to protect themselves serial killers, etc. use control to deal with their fear.
Not knowing more than you have told me, the father of your child may have had reason to fear financial responsibility. Men who pump gas don't earn much money. It is too bad for both your daughter and him that he doesn't take responsibility. On the other hand, my son's father disappeared before I knew I was pregnant and wasn't to be found. I married when my son was six and my husband adopted him and they are wonderful for each other. His natural fa
I agree with you one hundred percent. Abortion is such a polarized issue that both sides won't even get together to work on their common goal--unwanted pregnancies. Personally I think that the polarization leads to more abortions and out of wedlock births.
It's amazing how little it takes to make things go well. It was good that you noticed it.
The first week of a low carb diet is very hard. But after that it is easy if you don't cheat. I found that salads were a treat after all of that protein. I also drink Italian water with gas and that tastes really good, too. You'll lose your weight fast, the trick will be to keep it off.
Wonderful poem. What war did you fight in?
Dear Jepel, You write very well in English. Most of us make grammatical errors when we blog, because we don't try to do it perfectly. Thank you for considering me one of your favorites. I think I reply better than write my own articles. I like to read your stuff, too. Sherye
36. If you want to lose weight, it comes off quickly. Does this mean that you are spoiled! Thanks, this is funny.
This issue is personal. I have a friend who is working part time at a low paying job. She cannot afford her medications, but without them she is unable to work. Since she is working she is not eligible for SSI (payments for the disabled which included medicaid.) I don't know the situation of her parents. But they are probably getting close to retirement age. They can help now, but what do they do when they retire? There are any others like her.
