I don't remember seeing mention of the following bugs: - logistics improvements show on detail planet screen that they increase manufacturing - Ability to steal evil tech when neutral. But can’t exchange them (which is normal) - Ability to get evil trade goods (articifial slave for example) from exchange and get the benefits. [Message Edited]

Here is a post I have made on population growth in the public forum on the Senate Halls. The post can be found here http://diplomats.galciv.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=385 Here are some informations about the population growth calculation. The population growth of a planet if 3% if morale is more than 54%. If the morale is equal to 100%, the population growth is doubled. The empire growth bonus is applied on the base growth. And everything is capped at 200 Millions. An exam
If you want to see the drastic effect of morale on taxes, try move the taxes sliders until your planet reach 25% morale. There is a huge drop in taxes at this point. It is also the point where the little red icon appers next to the planet.
Seems like the lighthouse event is messing something up. Ill take care of it shortly.
I wonder why: it seems to offer a smaller bonus that the precursorlife event (that allow up to +50% PQ bonus for the planet)
Looks like they have server problems: Everything was fine this morning (I am in France), but now SDC can't connect.
It would appear we UK devotees of this genre are being treated like second class citizens!
I don't agree. Why are you emphazing UK citizens? The problem is the same for all european citizens. And some people would like to play it in a foreign version. For example, French people who don't speak english. How would you rate them? Third world citizen? I don't understand your anger. After all, you have some way to purchase an expansion pack. What would have you sa
Military, Gigantic, Maso is the big point magnet and almost guarantees you will hit the 60k cap to get the metaverse score up there fast.
That is true with version 1.20. But with version 1.49 (Altarian Prophecy), you can reach the 60K with other settings.
I was wondering why I had such a hard time to win on Intelligent and got so much score compared to before.
Were you forced to change your way to play (i.e. some tricks that worked in previous versions no longer work with the same effect)?
. I expect to have the game by the second week of April--and look forward to posting further questions then.
I have played the demo a lot before having Galciv (waiting for a french version). You can learn a lot about galciv with the demo. If you post questions here, don't forget to precise that you are playing the demo. An advice that will really help you in the demo: sell tech to the AI for BC over lots of months (just try to maximise the total BC that the
What's a good strategy for playing an evil race and still being able to get Terror Stars?
Terror Stars aren't alignement based. So you can always have them. But there are some UP laws that ban terror stars. So you might: - wait until the law is no longer active. Due to a bug, reloading game clear UP laws. - leave the UP whan you want to build TS
the empire forum where the same topics that were here in the beginning are being discussed, plus all the tech questions that could be helping the newbies
Are we browsing the same forums? It is really hard to find in empire threads any useful information if you aren't continually lurking to watch the various posts. And there aren't lots of non empire thread in the empire forum. But in this forum (galactic forum), there are a lot of questions that can be easily spotted and a
Part way through the demo several of the items in my build lists start appearing with a parenthesized number following them. For example, "Banking Center (5)" or "Entertainment Network (3)". What does this mean?
It means that these improvements are on a governor list for automatic building. By default, all planets are using Governor Ford's building queue
The best parts about this strategy are that 1) the civs all think they're getting a bargain, so they overspend, and generally go broke paying for my techs, 2) they think I'm the Bees-knees for giving them these techs, so they never threaten or attack me, 3) at 100% spending, I burn through the opening techs like you wouldn't believe.
Now the downside: it depends on the version and the level you are playing. 1) At 1.20 maso, you can't sell tech to major
Also, is the a complete list of changes since v1.00 available somewhere - there's no history.txt to be found in my install directory.
There is a history file for Galactic Civilization with Stardock Central
For information: the demo is GalCiv v1.03. The current version is 1.20. Lots of thing have changed between theses 2 versions. And I don't speak about features that ared disabled in the demo version: larger galaxies, ability to choose a party and somes picks, some ships techs that seem to do nothing in the demo (since the corresponding ship isn't in the demo).
I see one grip: how are you handling case in the same month where player invade a planet with unfleet transports? One thing that was nice in MOO1 (and MOO2 I think) was that moves were planned at a player turn and take place between turns. This means that you couldn't use guerilla tactic for invading a planet or fighting ships at strategic level. The fact that you could control your fleet only at the stars has some influence too.
What are the remplaced files?
If I remember correctly, there is a slight advantage of choosing always the neutral path: you won't be dragged into war for morality. And I remember that as soon as you choose a good or an evil option, this advantage is lost. Too bad, I can't find the thread where this tip was. Could someone confirm this?
The minor civ was the Indy League, which I guess makes sense.
Planet with low moral tend to flip to the I-League after it has appeared.
A new independent race appears in sector that I have like 1800 influence. It has like 5.
How doy you check the influence of a minor? I can check for major but for minor?
In a related question I keep forgetting to ask, is why is my ability to spend money (government spending) so limitied and what governs how much I can spend?
If you are under imperial governement, the spending is very limited. Changing governement has an effect on the efficiency: you endup producing more with a smaller spending rate.
So I guess trade bonuses are better then economy bonuses since trade bonuses have no caps where as economy does.
I can't say one is better that another: economic bonus from starbase are empire wide. Trade bonus from starbase are linked to mini-freighter in their sector. If you are at war with everyone, you can't make trade routes. If everyone is making trade routes with you, you end up with a huge boost on your economy.
What was the moral of the planet before the flipping? What is the minor civ?
Whoever was the lead designer should have been in the movie, "Dumb and Dumber" because he was a total idiot!
The designer was Alan Emrich, who has made great stategic guides for games. And in theses games there were Master of Orion and Master of Magic if I recall correctly. [Message Edited]
