I really don't play with ships either, but I think I would to a much greater degree if I could design them myself
It could be nice to be able to design colony ship with fixed amount of colonist without resorting to create mods. Maybe useful if design can be save from one game to another.
So I think that the difficulty level just won't affect your allies at all but instead just affect your opponents. How does that sound?
Does this mean that allies will always be at normal?
I used my first colony ship on a PQ 16 planet, and the next turn the cost was 6B while it was taking in 3B.

You are likely running on 100% spending. A planet on 100% quite often costs more than it provides.
Contrary to other 4x games (like civilization), spending aren't related to income. So you can spend more than what you earn. The tax rate has an influence on the tax income from each planet. The spending rate is how you utilize the capacities of

Some comments based on the documentation on the pack: the party seems very powerful : speed +1 => 5 picks weapon +20% => 1 pick research +20% => 2 picks Influence +20% => 3 picks loyalty +10% => 1 pick So the party has 12 picks. nice when all others have between 4 and 5 picks It looks strange that the Intervallweapons require 3D phasing since one of the needed tech to have it is the Transformcanons where 3D phasing is also required.
Heck, in MoM, the ultimate units were War Ships enchanted with Flying, Invisibility, and Spell Lock (with Spell Lock on it).
Strange, I always find that the ultimate unit in MOM was high level major heroes in pack :)
I have an up to date, top of the line virus scanner. My ISP also blocks all viruses. It has to be someone deliberately sending them.
So you have only reports that virus has been blocked but you haven't the e-mail that is sending you a virus. That is really annoying. Could you ISP tell you who is sending you e-mail?
Now this is the bit I do not understand. If you put the tax rate low and the spend rate at anything, it shows at the end of the slider the actual bc's this is costing you. Now as you move the tax rate up the bc's stay the same then start to drop but the point it starts to drop is BEFORE the tax rate starts to produce less money so the actual bc's from the tax is still going up.
Taxes have an effect on morale. When moral of a planet is below 25%, the taxe income drop drama

Just my opinion but remembering what happen to Moo3, I wonder if it is a good bet to use the name for a sequel. Sure, it will have a greater marketing impact. But fear that some people will look at the game as a sequel and will see only the sequel part. And will cry if the mechanices are too differents. It was already the case with Moo2 that could be described as: Civilization in space with ships design and tactical combat.
a MOM sequel would rock
I agree. One thing that was great was the heroes and the ability to make artifacts. But there was a big balance problem: toward the end, a group with high level heroes (that could be summoned) could be unstoppable. But it add a nice roleplaying element to the game: you WANT to increase your heroes abilities. The heroes in MOO II, designed not to be as powerful as in MoM, were a bit boring.
Note: I am mostly playing on normal, so I guess this way of playing would be much harder on the higher difficulty levels, as it is not so easy there to get an advantage in the early game...
The principe you have described are good for higher levels. The important thing to remember is that AI are more likely trying to bully you before trade routes have any effects on relations. So you need to bribe AI that are below neutral relation to avoid them coming to you to "help" th
the major glitch was i wanted to select a different race to be, like drengin or torrian etc.,
What are you expecting from playing another race? Let's see what are the difference in Galciv between human and other (background history aside): - human start the game with neutral morality. The AI can have various moralities. - human change morality with events. I don't know if the AI get such events and how they respond to - each race has a color and unit ships d
I never build military anymore. I use bribes to keep the AIs at bay, a good 20BC bribe over a good many months will keep them away. More to keep stronger AIs away. I have also found that it works best keeping them at neutral at minimum, and when it drops below, use the bribe to raise it up.
I use the same tactic. And it is on maso level. It will help if you can succeed to have the AI fight each other, with you as their primary trade partner. But unless they are very powe
I wasn't paying attention when I submitted it and later relized that I had recieved a score of 0 because of an anomolus difficulty.
These urban myths also keep people from playing with MODS, when, in fact, they really do add some interesting variety to an allready interesting game.
I am under the impression that using the "stardock certified" mods won't lead you to anomalous score. But I could be wrong.
governmet is the first type - senate I think...
Well imperial governement is the less efficient. Others allow, for the same rate, to have greater income and greater expenses. Which allow to build more ships, research faster new tech ...
Just wondering if i can delete the 2 Patches (Expansion pack) i have installed when i get AP. Cos it takes some place on the hard disk. All changes are include in AP, no?
Not sure. Since AP has it's own directory and since I have seen some posts telling to people with the beta AP to be sure to upgrade to the latest version of galciv, you might think that AP don't update the standard version of Galciv. But the retail version of AP can be another thing: since they
