I have made a political party: the Sneaky Diplomats This party is for those who want to play a diplomatic game without battle: diplomacy +60, moral +25, PQ +5, luck +75, creative +75, defense -40, hit points -40. Defense and hit points are negative bonus when controlling the senate. They prevent the AI to choose it and don't penalize those who play a no-military game. The luck factor seems to help having a nice setting or gigantic rare m
OK so the computer may not have been cheating there, but I had a game where a minor built Diplomatic Interpreters and Gravity accelerators on the same turn and they only had 1 planet and no cash - explain that! (this was prior to version 1.2)
Well, I could find of one way to have this behavior: previous turn, no more cash. Current turn: at the beginning of the turn, a TG is completed. On the same planet, I set another TG to build it. My treasury has gone back to the y
Destroy a few systems, morality goes down the toilet. Give stuff away, morality goes up.
If it was so simple. But good morality doesn't equal with always turn the other cheek: there are times when the good thing to do for good side is to crush and complety annihilate the evil. Sure it is always at the ending of times and is called Armaggeddon, but in the case of an ultimate fight between good and evil, the looser won't exist anymore. Morale and morality aren't l
Anyone who knows how to do this?
Since they don't correspond to any existing UP laws, chance are that the corresponding code isn't in GalCiv. So you won't be able to do them. :notsure:

One nice feature in MOO2 was the abitity to transform asteroid belt and giant gas into habitable planets
You could do that? I am sure I never knew about that feature.
Yes, with the proper tech. But it was a colony improvement. So you need at least one colony in a system to be able to transform asteroids belt and giant gas. So if the system has only asteroid and gias gas, you coudn't do anything.
Actually, from what I can tell, the problem is this: morale as a racial ability doesn't work very well at a system until morale as a local ability exists.
I guess that it would be nice to have the detail about the eaxct formula for morale in the latest versions of Galciv. The sticky post in strategic forum is very instructive but correspond to version 1.00. So the exact value aren't the same: From Frogboy post (4/10/2003):
If only 100 people live
in the past week ive gone from roughly 720k points to 670k.... rank 18 to 24. One was a major drop, of about 40-45k, probably due to a bad block shift. But since this time, ive submitted 3 more games. And my score has not changed, in fact its gone down in farther. In my latest game, i submitted at 671k, i checked score after submit, and its down to 670k. Whats going on?? Why should i even bother to submit games to metaverse if im only going to lose points doing it? I believe jtqwerk is al
I understand that income on new planets is low, cause many people to be taxed. What I don't understand is why my expenses on new planets are almost as high as they are on earth, when I'm not even building anything on them? Is there a way to manage spending on a planet by planet basis, or are you stuck just setting it up for your empire as a whole?
One thing to understand: income (for a planet) is based on PQ, population via taxes and morale. So high PQ planet are nice
Yes, that's true - but I would like not to have to open the little window in which you type the amount of bcs or influence points, and have to close it before you can see the effect on the deal. I'd like to have a slider to adjust the amount of bcs and see directly when the deal jumps from yellow to green, that would make it a lot less tedious to find the right amount...
That is strange: there are already sliders, and when moving them, the color adjusts. It is when direct

Q: How do I know if the AI will accept a trade in diplomatic screen? A: Look at the color of the proposed trade. It it is green, the AI will accept it. If it is yellow, the AI will refuse it. It should be noted that when moving BC or influence sliders, the color of the text adjusts immediately.
In the same sense, a technology value (can be purely symbolic) would be nice to have to help decide which techs can be best be traded for, instead of the current trial and error.
don't forget that difference in diplomacy bonus can make a huge difference in value: with very important diplomacy bonus (that could be checked on the diplomatic evaluation with "it you told them that they aren't the droids they're looking for, they will just repeat it"), you could be able to ex
Regarding diplomacy: it would be cool to be able to adjust the amount of bcs or influence points with a slider, and see the effect on the current deal directly. That would make it much easier to find the exact amount that the other race wants to make the deal.
Isn't it already the case with text changing from green (deal accepted) to yellow (deal refused)?
16.The knowledge of when UFP meetings take place
You are informed in december 2181, 2185, 2189, 2193 and so one every 4 years, that a UP meeting will take place (you need to have found at least 1 major AI). I don't remember exactly if it is in GNN or in the bottom right panel.
17.The ability to invite a race to the UFP minor or not.
Why do you want this? Ok Jackey Jackey, let's see what we have: on 05/21/2004: score 952K on 05/22/2004: score 962K on 05/24/2004: score 922K. It is due to the fact that the block 1 as no games. on 05/25/2004: score 928 K on 05/26/2004: if submitting a 60K game, 1019K What kills you is the fact that no submission was made between 3/23/2004 and 4/25/2004, a whole month. So when this whole month correspond to a block, you score see a drastic drop. But as soon as this month is split between
Ahhh lost 40k on a submission so I guess I would have to agree with you
Is it you who have lost 40K or your empire due to a recalc on all members? Because your latest submission has increased your personnal score by 5K
I do understand about my first big drop (was on about the 12th of the month) as no games in my second block.. but dramatic reductions 3 times in the month is rediculous... I just build back up to where i was and then it drops again...
there are irregularities in your submission rate: - no games between 12/21/2003 and 2/6/2004 (near 1.5 month) - no games between 3/12/2004 and 5/3/2004 ( near 2 months) So you have potentially 2 blocks that can be empty or filled
And lastly...is there any way I can change costs of units/buildings/etc...so it doesn't cost my entire treasury to maintain?
If you went to edit all text files, you can. but don't forget that the AIs play the same game that you: if you are doing thing to help you, it can help the AI too. And that is not a good news if the AI already beat you.
Thanks for the help Peace Phoenix. I am looking foward to the 31st now.
Well, if my calculation are right, 26th of may looks like a great day: you will have movement that allows you to pass the 1 million points, if you have at least 2 60K submitted from here to this day ( one the 26, and one from here to the 26).

What version of the game are you playing? If you haven't AP, you can't disable minors. I guess monsters (space sharks) are annoying if you surveyor is on auto survey. If you don't want the space shark to appear in anomaly, you just have to remaove from your data directory the file Expansion01Anom.ANOMALY. That won't prevent space sharks escaping from ZOO, but at least, the space will no longer have eggs.

ok, lets's see what I have with Jackey Jackey score: I take only the latest submission: block 0 : 44 60K games before, 45 after. Gain: 4.5K block 1 : 2 60K games before, 1 after. loss: 23.5K block 2 : 1 60K game as entered the block and one have left: no gain and no loss. block 3 : 1 60K game entered a block, 1 39K left and 16 games for a raw score of 667K didn't move. gain: 4.5K block 4: 1 39K game enter a block, 13 games for 360K don't move. gain: 5.5K No movement
I'd rather have a button 'Play 1 Turn' next to a 'Play 10 Turns' or a 'Play Until Something Unexpected Happens Or A New Choice Has To Be Made'.
Do you know that there is an option about autoturn? One of its characteristics is when you move your last ship, the turn proceed without you hitting "next turn".

One thing to know: sometimes a major civ see a revolt and there is a split in its civilization. I have witnessed it only one time, and it was with the Drengins: there were the Drengins (major AI) and the separatist Drengin (minor AI)
