One simple way to inhibit (but not stop) this is to do what almost every other Civ style game does and that is to only allow one improvement to be demolished per planet per turn.
But ist will work for you too when you get a planet with lots of unwanted improvements
This seems to be racial suicide as the planet which has divested itself of all buildings will see its morale drop to nothing, almost guaranteeing that the system will flip.
Well, if you know that a planet would flip, wouldn't you use a scorched Earth tactic to make the AI pay for flipping your planet: they will have your planet, but with no improvement which means a very bad moral, so the planet will be improductive. The AI is just using this tactic BUT only on t
For exemple a +10% Diplo gives about 1.00 points, +3 Speed about 18 points.
With points, are you refering to picks at the creation screen in the game (I don't use galciv writer)? I know that speed +1 is worth 5 picks, but it translate into polparty in speed +10%.
Interesting, but that will sewerly boost the point factor of the peed bonus (maybe the GCWriterCrew can do something about it). But i'll try
I guess that the Galciv Writer crew mu
I guess the better way is to make an archive of the complete game with SDC, and burn this archive and SDC on a CD.
Ok all this talk about easy win formulaes on huge maso. Where do people find them? Are they shared among empires or are they somewhere in the forums?
There are tips in the strategy forum on this site , as well as here http://diplomats.galciv.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=7 in the Senate Halls.
Interesting, but that will sewerly boost the point factor of the peed bonus (maybe the GCWriterCrew can do something about it).
What do you mean? If you look at your stats, you will see that each time a tech give you speed +1, it gives you in the stats +10%
There isn't any cheat: there are formulas to be able to get 60K in few hours (or even less with the beta of AP). And there are some things that allows to have a faster turn: - play on rare settings (less planets mean less things to manage) - turn off all eye and candy options (follow ships, show battles, follow AI ships ...) - reduce the rate of the savegame - don't move manually every ships each turn - use the governors for building improvements on each planet (For
Whenever I load my game, the cultural influence in sectors is wrong for the first turn or two. Then it returns to normal. This is an unnerving bug, because once I almost lost a planet, because the influence was badly calculated
It is a behavior that is in Galciv since the first version. And Stardock has already stated on the topic that the savegame needs to be bigger to save all data in order to have a correct influence calculation on reload. As they have choosen not to expan
Ok, Cari told me that the speed boni don't aply on pol parties, so i need to rebuild them.
Sorry, speed bonus works with pol party. You just need to add +10 (as with any tech that increases speed) instead of +1. I was able to alter sneaky diplomats to benefit from a +1 speed.
I guess it it just flavor. I have found that you need advanced to hope to steal some techs. And since espionnage expense is checked against AI population (if I remember correctly) ...
Even with the diplomatic power of the Sneaky Diplomats and Diplomatic Translators, the AI's tend to demand an exhorbitant number of techs if you ask for a significant military tech like Battleship, Dreadnaught, or Avatar.
That is right. They demand lots of tech for theses ones. But what must you give IF your diplomacy bonus was lower? :) Since all major AI will research these tech, I am sometimes able to trade it from a major AI that is behind me in tech (and alos behind
Are there any espionage levels above the high espionage level?
Advanced.
If anyone reading this likes playing this no-military, high-diplomacy kind of game, check out the "Sneaky Diplomats Party" mod by Peace Phoenix. It works on both GC1.2 and AP, and is "Stardock Certified". I highly recommend it
I have designed this party especially for this kind of games. And the major AI won't take it due to negative bonuses used. So you will have a real edge on diplomacy ("if you tell them that those aren't the droids they are looking for ..."). Very us
I guess that it is like wonder or trade goods: it is the completion that give the empire wide bonuses. Capturing the improvement don't give anything that is empire wide (but idf there are planet level bonuses, they are gained).
It s all about Free World Inc. empire who has only one player: danny krystyan! 2 days ago the empire and the player had 76947 Mps,with 23 battles, rank 42 (as empire). Today after one more battle with a score of 13300 the empire and the player has 104538 Mps, rank 37. Can anyone explain this???
After a short investigation it appears: - that the previous submission was the 4/21/04 - at this time, aging used for empire score was 10%. now it is 5% (change made in
I have tested it and the AI don't take this party.
It appears that major AI don't take this party. Minors (like carinoids) will sometimes take it since their agenda isn't about war :)
but I found it easy to buy help from the other races.
It is the aim of this party: to allow you to better act on the diplomatic scene at the cost of military.
Altarian Prophecy - When will it be available for download ?
What do you mean? The beta is available for Drengin.net users and for those who have preorder it. [Message Edited]
Unless I am mistaken, if you preorder it, you could download the beta (and the final product after). All you need is an e-mail from Stardock with your AP registering key and use Stardock Central
racial morale only works if a local morale effect also exists.
Not sure: Try to start a game with +40% morale (20 form populist and 20 from picks) and atrat a game with no morale bonus. Using the same PQ in the two case. I am pretty sure that with 40% racial bonus, you could have the taxes rate higher :)
My current theory, after some investigation: racial morale is actually a factor multiplied into local morale bonuses before they're applied. +50% racial mora
Well, if in a sector you have 10 as influence and the AI 11, the sector will have the color of the AI :) . You can always check with F8 the various number. Maybe the AI have mined some influence ressources, or have developped lots of influence ehancer projects. And if I remember correctly, there is a small diffuse influence in all sectors of the Galaxy, based on your overall influence. And don't forget that if the AI have meet more aliens than you (and aren't at war with them),
A small question Frogboy: Why these "better have" features weren't in Galciv? Could you explain a bit more
6) Have factions that you can play as. It would be nice to play as say the Drengin or Arceans but that's probably not realistic with the story elements in mind. But different human factions with their own uniqueness would be nice.
What is the difference with the actual political party?

When you win, how do you submit your score? Does game give you option, or is it automatic
When you finish a game, either win, loss, or retire, you get a summary screen and once you click past that you get the option to submit. You must register you player on this site first. Use that email you register with in the submit screen, as well as the Alias.
You must be connected to Internet in order to have the submission screen appears after the summary screen
So, I'm not sure what the problem is, but every time a vote ocmes up (Multiple games, the first time I switch to republic and my people vote) the game crashes. At this point, I don't know what to do to fix this as I have uninstalled and then reinstalled it even.
This remember me a similar problem with the french version and was due to the fact that something was wrong in political party files.
It is set to 8. But you could always edit the file to change the ID
