if they have to rebuilt them it's now their 14th starbase, and it costs a lot
Strange, from what I read, I was under the impression that the cost was based on the number starbases you own and not on the number of starbases you have created. There is perharps a "one turn delay" bug ...
Peace Phoenix
Looks like you are in deep trouble. I suppose that you have directX9 installed (it would be too easy if it is that ...) I see only one solution: - update to version 1.19 - install SmartException from stardock central (in the free stuff section) - play until crash. - sent an e-mail to CariElf with the debug.err file (and the save game if a save game causes crash). You can look at the first post in the thread for reporting bug about version 1.19 for the e-mail (and
When i go to start new game i can set up all player abilities and configure the comp players i can even play some yearson on a smal map and then the game crashes with out a reason (on bigger maps it happens earlier)
Are USS Hero on auto survey? Because what you describe remind me a bug with space shark and the impossible tech. Another possibilty (it was a bug in the french version) was a crash with the first election (when you change governement for republic). <br
Why exclude ressource starbase IF cost tweaked according to the map size? And if influence effect of starbase add instead of multiplty (ie. influence base calculated on the same base for all starbase in a same sector), it would prevent abuse of party palace.
You can also go for the deflector technology if you think you need to build some ships.. defenders to be exact. (first 2 blue techs)
Or want some juicy tech trade since the AI value this tech very high. IF there are some aliens (majors or minors) that don't have it but instead lots of others technologies :)
Hi, I'm near the end of my game and I'm trying to get a research victory (never gotten to see the cutscene before yet) the problem is, by the time I finally got the Drengin's too stop trying to kill me, I had taken over all their planet's but two. Now I am at like 95% culture, and I'm going to win that way before I can get my research done. I'm on near omnipotent now with like 10 mts left on that, any ideas? I tried destroying a bunch of my colonies, but that seemed to make my influence g
Have you looked at this thread? www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=112152
Have you try a search in this forum about the thread with "french" in their titles? When the french version was out, there were crashes and some comparisons with the german version. Have you installed the files in the sticky thread about french and german crash? I am just asking but I fear to already know your answer.
I fear that I can't help you :(

What kind of internet connexion do you have? Because I remember reading somewhere that you are able do download the whole game from stardock if with a valid galciv serial ID. From what I understand, you have installed Stardock Central to be able to have the latest patch to date (1.13). Am I right?
Which version/language are you using?
Possibilities that Galciv could have:-create star-create planet-change PQ...
It reminds me one great thing in MOO2: you could turn gas giant and asteroid belt in planet IF you have a planet in the system.
For example, being able to create/destroy/alter map features and suchlike, display map graphics and suchlike.
Could you please be more specific? I don't understand the point :(
How about this, plainly sliders for each planet is micro-management taken to the extreme (nano-management?), so let's use the governor system and give each governor his/her/its set of sliders, which by default would mirror the main sliders, but could be un-latched with a check-box.
I don't catch it: why would you have governor with sliders? Governors are linked with social projects. It is a build queue that have nothing to do with the spending on a planet: planets that ar
Rabid Resource:+5% speed -- Rabid go fast fast woot!-5% diplomacy -- foam in mouth, scares people
Does this mean that when you have a fully developped mining starbase you wil have: speed: +68% diplomacy: - 68%
Will the next maso succession game have an abudant habitability? We haven't seen yet how to handle it.
I have played a game where I was allied with altarian, and altarian where allied with torians and they were the majors AI left. And I was the 3rd in military :( . I managed to have the altarians declare war to the torians: I put some offensive ships in Torian sectors. They declare war to me. They destroyed some of my ships but I didn't respond. Then the Altarians came to help me :) [Message Edited]
I have suggested, in a previous thread, to able to know the tribute (x BC / month until ...) between you and the AI. Is it in your suggestion list CariElf?
well i have a very high diplomacy and i play cakewalk difficulty, hmm then maybe it aint a game"abuse" then i can feel good about it
Well Cakewalk is named for a good reason ;). If the same tricks would work at the highest level of difficulty it would be a loophole . :)
Still if you are interested in the small walkthru come to the link I provide above and visit us.I went to the link but found only Senate Halls login. I went to the forum index and looked in each sub-forum. I don't see the walkthru . Is the link right?
The link is right. If you want to come "by hand", it is, in the public square, the help and support forum. And in this forum, it is the basic walkthrough thread. Hope this help.
I mean, the argument about wages and whatnot is all very well and good, but does that mean that if you reduce your social slider to 0%, you've suddenly laid off the entire social production workforce in your ENTIRE empire?
since the social slider to 0% means that others has increase, it could be just be seen has having a very versatile population that can do anything: military projects, social projects or research. :)
I'm playing in a gigantic galaxy and I now have 245 colonies
And you don't see why sliders on every planet is a bad thing? ;) I should have missed something ;). But I think to remember that in MOO1, you have sliders on each system, but I could be wrong.
How about a compromise? Have a global slider that affects all local sliders. If you increase the global slider, all local ones increase as well and vice versa. That way, you can just use the g
OK so the survivors from my combat transports then occupy the planet, then next month my population has grown by as much 10% - eh??? The only way this could happen was if my army is almost entirely female and all in varying stages of pregnancy. Call me sentimental, but I don't think that near-term front-line fighters is consistant with my good alignment.
Look like you have only killed tax payer. So aliens that were hiding from the previous governement are going back :) .
