Off topic: Shouldn't this thread be in the beta reports subforum instead of the ideas sub forums? On topic: I have got overlapping boundaries. The corresponding savegame is send.
Peace Phoenix
I have problem with my french keyboard. This problem appears with hot keys and when naming a savegame: all letters (a to z and A to Z) are correctly identified, but the others are based on an US keyboard with one nitpick: no key for - and _ . This would be very annoying for shipping the game in countries that don't use a standard US keyboard. I have created a thread here https://www.galciv2.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=274&AID=91337
After some tests, it appears that my keyboard layout is strangely understood by the program: I have tested on the inout box for entering a savegame. It appears that there isn't any problem with all letters (from a to z and A to Z) but for other characters, it is more like an US keyboard. But the key with - and _ is missing. It is understood like the one just right to P. So for the program, I have no key for - .
I have problem in beta 4 with hot keys on a french computer with a french keyboard. I have posted a thread about that problem
I have a french version of Windows XP, with a french keyboard. I am able to zoom in ( + ), but I can't zoom out: On my keyboard, I should used SHIFT - to get 6. Too bad, the game doesn't need that I set caps lock or SHIFT to use the Hot key 6. It is very annoying, and can be a serious issue when the game will be shipped to non-english speaking countries.
After some tests, the "wacky" values are in the files. but since they aren't in the abilities screen, you loose them if you decide to edit those abilities
I should add that Thalan and Iconian start with a lots of tech: 12 for Thalan and 11 for Iconian
Well, it corresponds to the values that are in the corresponding XML file.
I see that the predifined races have bonus that can't be set with abilities (moral 80) for example. I see also that the Yor start with lots of tech. And a custom race hasn't enough points to get all those tech. Is it on purpose?
Note: Carielf... this is where you learn about the intense grind and 90-hour work weeks and/or the ridiculous amount of uncompensated overtime you'll be putting in that most people don't know about in the game industry. And all because someone made an unrealistic timetable. Hang in there.. maybe you'll be able to sleep more than 3 hours at a time next week *wink*
February 2006 I think.
Have you ever noticed AI ships follow your ships even when you know they're out of sight? Seems to me that the instant knowledge about yellow stars isn't the only one (hidden) advantage AI in GC-1 has. Well, how do you know that your ships were out of sight for the AI? And if your movements have been spotted by the AI, maybe they are just guessi
I should be stupid, but I don't see how to remove an item in the building queue at my home planet in the first turn
Je ne sais. Il faut voir ce que fera la société qui le distribura en europe In English: I don't know. It will depend on the company that is responsible to sell it in Europe.
My assumption was that at least one of the Stardock members reads the post and either directs me to the appropriate email address, or simply answers my question Well, not sure if comments in the news forum are read by Stardock. but I know that this forum http://tgnforums.stardock.com/?ForumID=139 is watched by some Stardock members, and especially Yar
Greetings, I've just pre-order the game, my question is similar to that of MARC0 P0l0 ; If the BETAS are still open, how can be downloaded ? Regards, You need Stardock Central and a valid Serial number (GCII Or TGN serial number) to register into Stardock Central. After that, if the beta is available, it should
I'm actually VERY disappointed with Stardock. I simply asked a normal question relating to the price of the BETA and I'm still waiting for a reply 11 days later. Surely it's not a difficult question. Doesn't make the potential customer feel appreciated at all. Well, I just stumble upon this https://www.galciv2.com/For
Well, you need to be able to have the latest version of DX9 for playing the beta.
people who were already subsribed get access to the games before June for free, is this the same for people who register now? I fear not. You will need to spend 5 tokens (a TGN subscription is 70$ = 10 token) to have the final game. But I may be wrong.
I think I don't get it: what are the difference between some of your suggestions and the fact you can choose picks with your starting race? BTW, are you playing the beta or have you seen the planetary management screen: some tiles of your planets canh ave bonus.
Have you choosen the same techs that all others races?
Well, I have a small question for you: do you find useful to split sliders between military, social and research at the beginning of a game? Or do you prefre to go 100% for few turns and swap sliders depending on what is needed? More reserch sliders would be more useful when you produce lots of research due to rounding effects: you don'treally want to split 10 research BC among 7 researchs.
I renewed my TotalGaming subscription but this does not seem to grant access to the new Beta... Stupid question, but have you checked the "show prealease" checkbox?
well that is all fine and dandy...but I *really* hope you getting a little bit better quality games than the 5-6 or so that you just added. I don't see myself spending any of my 10 tokens on ANY of them.... Well, don't forget that Stardock produces games <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 AL
In the Beta 2, you have no warning about the fact that all BC produced in a field (military, social, research) will be unused. It can happen when you forget to set a research and have a research slider that produces BC. So, it would be nide to have a warning about this when: - you leave the research screen without any research set and while having research BC produced - you leave the ecomonic screen (the one with sliders spendings) with reserch B
