and sometimes the game crashed while quicksaving (causing the savegame to become corrupted, or at least the game crashed trying to load the savegame then).

My debug.err contrains some error messages. for instance a problem with starship.cpp at line 5304 a couple times. the report ends with the start of a random event and as the crashes are random it may be related to those. any help would be appreciated. ^^ edit: was in metaverse game Debug Message: Version v1.0 Digital: Bonus Pack last updated on: Mon Feb 20 19:04:13 2006 Debug Message: Could not find a TGN Serial No. Debug Message: *********DXDiag i
only thing that bothers me a bit is the upgrading of ships and that there is no way to re-enable obsolete designs in the shipyard while outside the shipyard (direct build on map) I can still build every ship I ever designed even if they are obsolete or have been replaced (the list gets a lil long there). ^^ I think all of that will be fixed by the end of this week. and nevertheless I really enjoy the game.
it just takes too much time to research all kinds of weapons and defenses. its better to focus on 1-2 of them and instead research more important stuff like ship hulls and miniaturization instead of doing Mass Driver 1-5 when you already have missiles and lasers.
I buy 5-6 Colony Ships and take all habitable planets I can get. with some luck I find 2000 Credits in an anomaly so I buy even more. as the AI is really fast taking up all planets its very important to secure as many planets as you can.
thanks and take your time
encountered another a bug with designing ships. during an early Metaverse Game when the report showed up showing what stuff my planets build this round I used "Go to" to enter the planet screen of one of my planets. then entered the shipyard and tried to create a new design. I placed everything I wanted (hull, weapons, shields, engine...) and was at 27/28 space usage. I entered a name and hit save. however the design wasnt saved. When I hit done he warned me that unsaved stuff would get lost. I
hm, I got everything except the last few MBs already since last wendsday. took me 10-15 minutes to finish the download today.
I finished the first mission from the campaign. which was easy too and a good start to learn the game. now its nearly 1.30 AM my time so I better try and get some sleep before I will start a huge non-campaign game tomorow. so far I enjoyed GC2 very much and cant wait to continue playing.
ya, and the battle-sequence is only shown if your fleet and the enemy fleet are actually capable of fighting (e.g. if you attack a transport it will be destroyed without showing a battle).
got it all downloaded. the music from the main screen (new game, load, option etcs) right when you start the game has some channel-issues for me. Only my left and somewhat my center speaker gets signals from the music, my right speaker remains completely silent. seems the channels in the music-file are kinda messed up. beside that all ingame sounds and music I noticed so far behaves as expected. no major bug, but was kinda confused and thought the problem was on my speaker
where can I get that ?
man, going to cinema now with my family.... well, 3 more hours until Iam back and can play...
kinda blows cause Iam away that evening.
well, tactial battles in MoO2 were pretty cool as long as the number of ships was not soo big (2000 doom stars anyone?). sucked especially in Multiplayer sessions cause it took so long. thats where GC2 will be better at if they eventually add multiplayer with an expansion or patch. the best part of both worlds would be MoM style tactical combat (e.g. limited customization of ships/heroes and limited amount of troops per army/battle/fleet). for non-massive multipl
man, wish it was release day already. Iam playing DDO European Beta a bit, or Dark Age of Camelot (US Pellinor Server). Iam also playing arround abit with Lazarus (Ultima 5 Total Conversion for Dungeon Siege 1) while waiting for patch 1.4 for X³ The Return.
I will definitly try to get some B5 ships into GC2 assuming I can spare the time
downloaded everything via SDC without problems
best site for old games: http://www.abandonia.com (has MoM, Pirates, even X-Wing and TIE-Fighter. and lots more) edit: and agree with poster above. Wesnoth is pretty fun too for it beeing free. especially for a quick multiplayer skirmish.
I just pre-ordered it here with stardock. that way I know Iam getting the Collectors Edition sooner or later (and can play as soon as I get my serial per e-mail). I dont mind paying extra for the shipping. could download a language pack later on anyway, but will probably stay with the english version
I simply loved playing MoO2 hotseat with my friends or just with my brother and later on via LAN. sure it took a while, especially later on, but it was well worth it. Iam still playing Civ2 with a friend via e-Mail. We do maybe 3-6 turns a week each (so a game takes years literally), but it sure is still fun. our first game began in 2001 during high school. we are pretty much done with it now and started another one a while (long while) ago, but still carry the first game along where
still lurking here too every now and then. waiting for GalCiv 2 and a word on Master of Magic. ;) my studies totally eat up all my time these days tho. :(
Iam looking forward to play and mod GC2. keep up the good work Stardock!
I want Multiplayer capabilities (Hot Seat, play per e-mail and LAN/Internet).
