If your going to get a 50 mm prime lens, I really recommend getting a compact macro. You have a Canon system? I don't know if Nikon has an equivalent but if they do, it is so worth it. the 50 mm prime is about $50-70 and unfortunately, the 50mm compact macro is about $230(?) but it is an amazing lens. Super sharp and you can do so much with it.

Poor puppy! I hope he found someone else. I was watching a show about dogs and how humans have affected their "evolution". It seems that the canines who could look to human cues were the ones that became more successful and evolved to become the dogs we know today. Apparently, wolves raised in captivity don't have this ability (or at least to the same degree).
I've been pretty lucky to not have a lot of these types of women in my life.
